7th August Pits on medium setting. (Not a good test as I'd epilated them fairly recently)

22nd August Pits, Nips, right inner thigh fair

23rd August left inner thigh and backs of both thighs fair

24th August rear bikini, left lower leg fair

28th August face, mid bikini, front thighs fair

29th August - Woohoo! I've just taken a good look at my lower legs & I can definately see the difference between the treated & the untreated leg. There is still a lot of hair remaining but it's definately working. Of course it's too early to say if it will last but for me this is fantastic after only one treatment.:j

August 30th right lower leg fair

September 4th - Have left my underarms to their own devices lately. Checked today & I can see large bald patches, yee haaa, it's working.:j

  • Hi Everyone, sorry I've not been on here sooner, but it seems loads of people have commemted on the treatment week by week but very few people have commemted on the end results after 12 weeks, so I thought I would wait until now to tell you my results.

I have been using the boots smooth skin every week or every 10 days on my bikini line area, arm pits and one of my legs (it takes so long to do one I thought I would just do one and keep the other one as a control to compare with). I have a medium complexion (so using the med setting) and am blonde albeit dark blonde, but body hair varies between dark blonde-brown.

I have noticed that all of my bikini line hair has completely gone, except the bits lower and closer to the centre. My arm Pits have been the same (just the denser darker hair in the middle that remains) although for some reason more hair has disappeared on one arm pit than the other. On my leg all the dark hair has completely gone, but as I am blonde there are still some very short fair hairs but they are so soft compared to the darker ones I had previously.

Overall I am very pleased with the product and I feel that with a few more weeks at it, the stubborn bits in the middle will also go, I think maybe the 12 weeks is if you use it on the light setting, and as i used the medium setting I presume it will take a little longer. I have found that it is very tedious and a big commitment but after 8-9 weeks I really started to feel the return from my effort. Now all there is, is do the other leg, lol!!

If you have any questions feel free to ask me, Ill do my best to get back to you but I am going away for a month in 2 weeks, so that will be a true test of how long I will stay hair free for. I will be able to fit 2 more treatments in before I go away so fingers crossed those extra 2 will do the trick in getting rid of those last few stubborn bits.
  • is anybody on here asian that has use the boots smooth skin hair remover let me know asap. and if you have did it work and what skin tone are you.

September 13th - Face. I've decided to over this area every fortnight rather than monthly as this area is notoriously stubborn & most people need extra sessions for this.

Boots have now updated their webpage to explain that this can now be used on the face, although they say only with the dark setting. I've used it on the fair setting with no adverse reaction. The additional instructions are here; http://www.boots.com/wcsstore/cmsassets/Boots/Content/Products/Elec%20Hair%20Removal%20-%20CAT:%20A00000266/10075212.P/6339%20Boots%20Smooth%20Skin%20User%20Guide%20LR.pdf

    Hi there,

Hair grows in cycles & is only treated during the growing phase. I'm ignoring Boots suggestion of using the device weekly because I believe it will take around a year to ensure I've treated all the hairs in the growing phase. I don't know whether this will be useful to you but here's the science bit; http://www.hairlaserremoval.co.uk/laser-hair-removal-grow.htm

P.S. The growing phase (Anagen) mentioned here is for the hair on the head. On the legs the cycle is usually between 4 to 7 months.
