  • Thanks all ebayed out,

I seem to have problems with my computer, so sorry if this is the second time this message has gone on.

The remington comes with three bulbs each giving 1500 shots. It says that covers one full body treament and you do a treatment every two weeks. So i guess six weeks. A repacment bulb is £25. so its going to cost £375 for the 12 weeks. It claims that you will be hair free for up to 12 weeks. In all the boots i think work out better value. An hopefully with a bit of competition the cost of replacment bulbs will drop!

It been great to read all you posts and i hope you all carry on. It would be reat to know if any of you found the effect lasted longer then three months. I cant get one just yet as i have lost my job, but come christmas i am going to get every one to chip in. Untill then i keep living vicariously through you all!! Keep posting!

That's an awful lot of money to be hairfree for UP TO 12 weeks and no details of clinical trials. I'm feeling confident about the Boots machine. Tria laser sounds promising but painful.

I've been following this thread right from the start because I really want to buy a boots smooth skin machine. I have dark hair and very fair skin so I should be the perfect candidate. Now all I have to do is save up enough money to buy one which could take a while! If all else fails, I guess I will just get everyone to club together and buy me it for christmas.

I'm interested to hear that Remington are bringing out their own version too although it sounds a bit bizarre! Why would anyone pay so much for "up to 12 weeks" of being hair free when they could pay much less for the boots system which potentially has permanent results?

Anyway, keep posting your results girls (and boys!). I love reading about how it is going for everyone and the more success stories I read, the more excited I get about buying one of these miracle machines.

I had one of these and sold it after 10 months. The treatment area was weenie, the size of a 1p coin, or there abouts, and I didn't see half as much result as from the BSS. The pain factor was about the same as the BSS, to me anyway, but everyones different.
    Whether we win or lose,
that we played at all was a winning decision. :D
    2011 wins £12,292
    2012 wins ...
Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A

    Hi,
What results have you had with the BSS. It's early days for me, too soon to tell but I'd love to hear some positive news. I bought the BSS on the strength of the reviews here & elsewhere but haven't read any recent stories.
    Thanks
  • i am gutted because i have had my eye on one of these for a long time (having previously been a salon laser obsessive!) but was waiting to ask for contributions for my birthday (next week) and now the price has gone back up! does anyone know if there will be a future offer on them? i would be willing to pay the full price but would be even more gutted if they reduced them again the following week

They will probably reduce the price again soon so I would wait. In the run up to Christmas, Boots have shopping evenings where you get 1000 points for every £50 you spend - so that's like 20% cashback (but to spend on other things). If they happen to offer this product at a lower price and the extra points you'll be saving a packet.

Just thought i would add my experience with the boots machine. I got it at the full price, then about a week later it went back down. I called my local boots and they refunded the £50 (via refund and then purchase again), very helpful.
I have done 4 treatments on bikini line and have about 5 patches of growing hair (mostly around the top and edges, so probably where i missed). 5 sessions on underarms and cant say i've noticed much hair loss, just thinner and slower growth.
I did 3, 1 week apart, then the next about 3 weeks later. I havnt done it for 4 weeks now and the bikini line hasnt grown back. I will do another one soon, then leave again for 4 weeks!
I have fairly dark hair but not very white skin and i stick it on fair setting. Yes it hurts a bit but its worth not having shaving/wax rash!!
I've already told 3 friends about it....will try stomach area but currently quite tanned so maybe wait til winter, same with legs!
  • can you use this machine on ur forearms arms back etc. And what if ur asian but light brown skin with black hair.

7th August Pits on medium setting. (Not a good test as I'd epilated them fairly recently)

22nd August Pits, Nips, right inner thigh fair

23rd August left inner thigh and backs of both thighs fair

24th August rear bikini, left lower leg fair

28th August face, mid bikini, front thighs fair

Will post results when I see them
