Some of you guys may remember my near death experience with a CD player on the landing and the humiliating sniggers of my offspring as I very nearly plunged naked down the stairs to an untimely (and oily) demise. I decided today that I would set up my Boots wireless bathroom speaker so I could listen to a bit of Guns&Roses in the bath. Yay!
What a pile of carp it is. It took me half an hour to figure out how to get the battery cover off, another ten minutes to tune it to my I-Pod and lo, Axl Rose sounds like, well.....Daniel O'Donnell if I'm honest. Plus there's an annoying hum in the background (no, it's not Slash)
I'm very disappointed as I thought with an original price tag of £25 that it should have decent sound quality. I bought it in the 75% sale so didn't pay full price, but still...
I wonder if I can take it back and get a refund even though it's been a couple of months since I bought it and I don't have the receipt any more? Did anyone else buy one of these and have any more success with it?

jazzteddy, isn't the perkie working on any reduced items now? i've been away since tuesday (nowhere near a boots store or a PC:eek: ) and I am reading the thread backwards. Mr b is going to lose a lot of very loyal customers at this rate. There is no incentive to spend a fiver anymore if the perkies can only be redeemed against full (over)priced items:rolleyes:
Hi
I managed to get 2 blushers that were reduced to £5 for free with the purkies on Wednesday, but couldn't get a Sun screen that was reduced to £4.43. Th eblusher was £5, so maybe a minimum spend of £5 is now in force, or a minimum value for an item to use the purkie.
I ditched the sunscreen and picked up a lush betty blue nail varnish which is just the right side of gothic for me.
I love No7 nail varnish but have every shade, so can only get them when a new one is released (or availlable in local store).
Was sent to get some slim fast for hubby (he likes the taste) so split transactions to get purkies, so did very well for not spending any money!Boots: £107.xx on AC :j
Tesco CC: £48.00/ £192 in deals:p

I don't know about this but the laugh you just gave me describing it briefly means that I really need to find out.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Sally06, yes it appears that some of the Christmas stock has been shipped out to branches. A few people have reported seeing large numbers of the No7 Artist Collection set, for example, which was originally £70, on sale at £17.50. Not near me though, unfortunately.0

Hiya
I don't save anything for best either .. cos I'm worth it :j
My perfumes get used up .. I put it on a few times a day whether I am at home or going on a school run lol .. I don't care where I am going, I use it .. just like I don't have any clothes just for best .. cos every day is a " best day " .. cos we are alive + worth it
Any good things in life which you have .. you need it now. ( 2morrow is not ours to see )

What is the cheapest or free item I can get with PURPLE voucher? Have 2 and want to get rid of them tomorrow, don't want to spend loads mind you.
Also, is anyone going to be BOOTSING around lunchtime in Leeds city centre tomorrow? If there is anyone around, pm me!
PS. The adorable SA at my local is so lovely! She always comes over for a mini gossip whenever she sees me. Anyway, I was feeling really perky and happy today, and bless her soul, she noticed. She asked me why I was grinning like a cheshire cat. Normally SA's are quite grumpy but this one is just spot on. Who would have thought an SA who sees lots of customers daily would notice such a thing. She is such a honey. I'm deffo gonna call CS and tell them about the super service she delivers.
PPS. Saw a few GILLETTE PUTTING things at HUDDERSFIELD (city centre) store yesterday. It did say on the set that you had to spend £10 or more on Gillette items. HTH.0
