It's just that I have asked SA's to price check the Hand Saviour / Foot cream that some of you are getting 1/2 price, and they are still full price.
Can't help with the question unfortunately minx, but those are half-price in some places?

I've taken my eye off the ball lately :o so thanks for that ;)

    Monk's Cross Clearance

I couldn't believe my eyes. They were asking for amounts that are about 3 times what most places are asking, so I wouldn't rush there for any bargains. Unless anyone wanted 49p NC strawberry soaps :rotfl:

I know I havent had this much fun reading grabbit for ages. Just as well I dont own a wooden spoon. ;) Well I do, but its so high up, and I have lost so much height now that I can't reach it. so I am just observing instead.

I had my first bootsing session in 2 weeks today. In fact its the first time I have been out the house for a fortnight (Except for a visit to Supermarket yesterday)
Got my first purply thingy. Will post what I bought tomorrow (Not very exciting really

    Hi Polls xx

Sorry to hear you've not being able to get out and about. I will be your personal shopper anytime:D

The purplies aren't very exciting this year are they? I seemed to do far better last year. Wonder if we'll get a Mothers Day offer again?

Just pleased I got DD her compact foundation which was a bargain and nice to have a good shop which was very useful.

    Hugs and take care xxx

    Hi everyone.

I have tried to read the other chat thread a lil while back, but I couldn't get into it... Like others have said.. it was mainly off topic- hows everyone elses families etc doing + nite nite everyone.
I do like this thread.. even though it can take hours a day to read lol... it's nice + friendly as well.
not offending anyone either, in any posts.. just my opinion.

    Angel x

I agree with you. I don't have any gripes with anyone on either thread but I find I don't have much in common on the refugee thread as it's mainly talk about children and personal stuff. For me personally, this grabbit thread is much more my thing. I don't mind the chat here as it is usually in some way Boots related with a little light relief spotted in between!!!!

Well, having read recent posts on the other boots thread as well as the grabbit thread,
I can see there is a rather large divide between what is ideal and needed here and what is reality.

I personally have always tried to be helpful, friendly, understanding and as on topic as much as possible,
but I am unsure as to how 'chatty' my posts actually are. I think a bit of added info and humour,
shows what a bunch of friendly bargain hunters we are. If this thread was completely devoid of any kindness, fun etc,
I suspect that many of us would not be so keen to post our bargains/ glitches and offers here on such a regular basis.

I do sometimes read the other thread/ and have once or twice posted there and I know that it is in the main very harmonious
and used by a regular group of kind and friendly posters, :)
but I for one do not wish to discuss my personal life on the internet, in an open forum to that degree.
So now I don't know where I should or will be posting.....I think many of us will feel the same.
No offence mean't to any one who enjoys these sort of posts...but it isn't for me and i must admit that I have enjoyed using and posting on 'this' thread.

People on this thread do chat a little, telling us of their fun days out, sometimes mentioning their DS/ OH/DD,
some times giving us a hint of how they are feeling/ or what they are coping with, etc, we are after all only human.
I know we all like go a bit off topic at times, but in the main, I think that the little bit of chat we have,
helps the thread flow more easily.
For example: People posting shopping lists helps other shoppers to get bargains, tells people which
coupon works on which item, etc, etc.

If all I see/ or post here is along the lines of...
....Will you all cut the chat, just post the bargains and tell all us (irregular/ or non forum posting members)
how we can get on with it and pick up bargains we have not ourselves found,
(with no thanks to the people who have found them)
...then I will be a very sad little teddy indeed.:(

This is only my opinion...and it only means a lot to me...but I like harmony...bargains and a little boots related banter.:)

I like reading the shopping lists, as you've said it helps you plan what your going in for. It would be a shame to have to split into three threads, I was just trying to explain to Glad the reason why CPG had started a 3rd thread. I've never posted in the Refugees thread and probably never will because TBH it feels a little cliquey. The new thing with the Facebook group where you've got to get permission from someone to join only goes to highlight this.

I'm seriously looking at getting the train too and from work from now on, which will mean an end to my trips to Boots anyways, but it'd be a shame for everyone to stop posting because a few people are too lazy to read through a thread.

LOL. I wouldn't mind Melgirl, but the transactions were both done at the No7 counter by a No7 assistant too :A They're all lovely in Monk's Cross, and I'm not just saying it because they went through without question (or beeps ;))

Pollsdolls, would you like to borrow my new set of wooden spoons? They weren't bought in Boots but they were a bargain :)

To keep on Grabbit topic, went to Boots today to get a temporary card. I'll put it in my son's name and use it till my new one comes through. SA said to just keep all my receipts till new one comes and then get points added, but I'm sure I'd lose them.

I thought I'd have a Meal Deal, but when I looked at the shelves I decided that MD would be too expensive. Lots of things reduced so bought
Oak ham and Philly sandwiches - reduced to 75p
    Chicken pasta salad - 75p
Cajun chicken wrap (for DS) - 75p
Shapers Strawberry and banana smoothie - 15p!!!!!!
Also bought a No7 eye shadow pallette, so used perkie and got another one to replace it.

Also got 24 pts onto card. I'm sure there will be plenty more by the time I get my card back. Then I wonder if DS will get different ACM vouchers. I'll eagerly await his new card.

    Depends. :rotfl:

Question to anyone please? Are the trio of Cadbury's cream eggs still part of the meal deal? TIA

Sandra, I can not be bothered to reply to all of your questions, not out of lack of respect, just because the hour is late.

I do believe that people find it tiresome. This subject comes up with alarming regularity and there was even a vote a while back. So I felt it was better to carry on as normal until cpg and glad chatted and made a decision.

I also felt it was time for people to stop being nasty and stop any 'them and us' whether real or imaginary.

I just feel that whilst alot of people tolerate chat on grabbit, that feeling like they have accidently fallen into the 'discussion time' board may not be welcomed.
Hi broclo, i think as SS said its very hard to acertain the tone of a post and also people on these forums come from all diferent walks of life, to some your last few quotes were completely ok but others may feel that the way you "said " things was rather rude. Personally i think alittle bit of chat is ok, i might post that i was having a bad day etc but nothing really that i wouldnt be happy for people to know in the real world. Regarding "discussion time" as op has mentioned some people just want things handed to them on a plate, thats fine but on the other side of the coin the bargain finders might think why should i bother posting my finds if its not gonna be fun to chat about it etc. Again this is just my very humble opinion but i dont think i would want to post if its just xxx found at x store for £x, for me this a hobby and hobbies usually need to be fun for us to enjoy them. Pls do not be offended and this is in no way personal, i dont even know you well enough, but do know from previous experience that you are well meaning and generous with your patience. Thankyou, evil twin out:D
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Sure, Broclo, that may well be your opinion, but it may not be the opinion of others. And lots of us feel we have accidentally stepped into the Wrong Room when we go on Refugees!!!!

I thought you might have answered my previous post which was politely enquiring, why you, who know each other so well, feel the need to talk about your Private Lives in such detail in a Public Forum?

You are obviously an articulate and intelligent person, so can't you see that it makes others feel unwelcome? I compare this to the New Girl At Work syndrome.

Someone new joins the company, and is introduced to everyone, and they all smile :D and then, come lunchtime, she joins the others in the Staff Canteen, who are talking to each other, making no eye contact with her, and making no effort to include her in the conversation!

    Reader, I Was That Girl!!

Obviously, you are perfectly entitled not to answer my question, which wasn't put as a Third Degree thingy, but just cos I can't understand why it is done.

BTW one and all, my DH has never smelled so gorgeous in all the years I've known him, thanks to Mr Boots!! When we first met in the early 60s, he informed me aftershave and deodorant were not manly at all, and it has been an uphill struggle since then, when I bought him some Old Spice. ;)

So thank you for all the Manly Glitches, cos he doesn't smell the least bit like a man in his 70s but like the Horny Hunk I met!

    xx
