Beckton is the Clearance store, a sort of cemetry for all the old unwanted things from different branches. The things are very cheap but it is luck whether you get there as several pallets of something You Want is being delivered, or not.

I remembered that lots of people were raving about Country Hampers, and couldn't get them in the sale, and there were stacks of them, so I gave the Heads Up (I like using with-it phrases!).

I don't pay a farthing to get there, and it means an hour-ish ride on bus/train/bus for me, but I go with a friend, so don't notice the time, and I have bought some good bits and pieces. But I wouldn't say you're going to rave every time you go, it just depends what's been delivered - and you never know what that'll be. HTH

    xx

Thanks SS, I have been there loads of times, just couldn't get to the correct side of the Thames today and I really wanted to go!

Well done with the with-it terms!!!

    snipped....

BTW one and all, my DH has never smelled so gorgeous in all the years I've known him, thanks to Mr Boots!! When we first met in the early 60s, he informed me aftershave and deodorant were not manly at all, and it has been an uphill struggle since then, when I bought him some Old Spice. ;)

So thank you for all the Manly Glitches, cos he doesn't smell the least bit like a man in his 70s but like the Horny Hunk I met!

    xx
Well done sandra for making your OH a new man with the smellies. :T

Have you managed to convert him to facial/skin care pampering yet though?

MY OH has always been adventurous with EDT etc. But he now has loads of Mens skincare products, that he does use (sometimes when reminded)

I must admit, he prefers it when I pamper him with them :p He appreciates the end results but needs motivation IYKWIM.

Sure, Broclo, that may well be your opinion, but it may not be the opinion of others. And lots of us feel we have accidentally stepped into the Wrong Room when we go on Refugees!!!!

I thought you might have answered my previous post which was politely enquiring, why you, who know each other so well, feel the need to talk about your Private Lives in such detail in a Public Forum?

You are obviously an articulate and intelligent person, so can't you see that it makes others feel unwelcome? I compare this to the New Girl At Work syndrome.

Someone new joins the company, and is introduced to everyone, and they all smile :D and then, come lunchtime, she joins the others in the Staff Canteen, who are talking to each other, making no eye contact with her, and making no effort to include her in the conversation!

    Reader, I Was That Girl!!

Obviously, you are perfectly entitled not to answer my question, which wasn't put as a Third Degree thingy, but just cos I can't understand why it is done.

Just don't try the gradual tan on him especially if you have too many sherberts when you apply ! Trust me....Orange results, very orange ( funny though:D )
This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

I do believe that people find it tiresome. This subject comes up with alarming regularity and there was even a vote a while back. So I felt it was better to carry on as normal until cpg and glad chatted and made a decision.

I hope this will set the record straight. The reason that the refugee thread was closed, the reason that
the forum mods told us all off for chat etc, had nothing whatsoever to do with the level of chat on grabbit.
It may have been the case in the past, but was not so this time.

People are getting the wrong end of the stick on grabbit tonight. Comments made on the refugees thread,
contributed to the closure of the thread as you are aware.
That is the reason that the thread was locked and the 'chat' comment posted.

Guys, we are a shopping/ bargain hunting/ glitch loving/ pound stretching group of bootsaholics...we all like our say...we all know which thread we feel more at home in...but we certainly do not need to be unkind/ or unhelpful to each other because of this. When ever I post here, I always carefully check and then recheck my posts...because I know that when some thing has been said it can be deleted from our thread, but not from our memories.

Kind regards to you all..jazzteddy :)

..thanks to the boots thread! (Well we teddies do like to smell good!)

It seems we're all agreed that the ACM vouchers aren't all that great, so I hope Mr B and his staff (who have no doubt been entertained this evening!) can introduce some great offers.

Or we might all go to S****dr*g!! Can I use a Purpley to get eyeshadow please? I was thinking about a pallette of browny-taupey colours. to give me that smokey eyed, sultry, but approachable and confident look.

Combined with the "I May Look Young But Please Offer Me Your Seat" look. I always thank the offerers profusely and several times in a clear voice as in "Thank you so much. That is so kind of you. I do appreciate it very much."

Sometimes, just sometimes, other peeps get up too and offer their seats!!

Nice to see you Polls, hope you're better. Not a very tempting display of goodies from Mr B this month, unless you want vouchers for Ear Wax Removal or Cold Sore Treatment!

People are getting the wrong end of the stick on Grabbit tonight. Having read the refugees thread the other night, I was quite shocked at what was being said there.

The accusations on both sides were heavy to say the least, and that may be the price people pay for posting too much private info about them selves on a public forum. That is the reason that the thread was locked and the 'chat' comment posted.

Well done JT for your comments, I hadn't thought of that at all. It does give the impression that Grabbit is up before the Magistrates for gross misbehaviour when it wasn't even charged!

Jazz Teddy, I am so sorry. I've just realised that I've read through and corrected your spellings, paragraphing, capital letters etc, thinking it was my own, and I don't know how to undo it now!!!!!

Sorry, it's habit! Please forgive me.

The excitement of it. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I emptied my bag before I went out as all the vouchers I had were expired. The bag was then light enough to put on my shoulder without collapsing.

I think I am most excited about the boots socks ones. :j :j :j However I couldnt find any reduced socks!!!!!!

so will try to contain my excitement by not thumbing through them again in case they start to look tempting. ;);)

BTW I did not get any for ear wax removal or cold sore treatment. sulk :p Are they real or are you taking the sandra scarlet
