The post spoke for itself in my opinion

Yes we have freedom of speech, but I actually TOTALLY DISAGREE with you as the GRABBIT thread is not for all this hoo-haa and i'm sure that MOST posters and lurkers do not find this all REFRESHING I think they find it TIRESOME and alot of them would prefer everyone just got off the merry-go-round and played nicely from now on

You might disagree with me and you are showing your right to freedom of speech. But please don't dictate to me what I can or cannot comment on.

BTW using capital letters is so rude.

Can someone explain why people are allowed to tell us where and what to post on here. I am very appreciative to all who post on here with glitches and to CPG for all her work but I thought this was a free forum where there were only rules about not being rude or offensive. Why are a few people on here allowed to tell the rest of us what we may write about? I agree with SS that people should be careful about private information on here but posting about glitches and shopping threads is what this forum is for. I for one wont be told what I can or cant say on here!!!

    Yep. Right. Laters.

    Cool. ;)

Btw, for any hamper makers thinking of using the No7 accessories etc, get them used up quick. The new packaging looks far superior (imo) to the old.

    P.S. I'm reporting you rubylou88 - for being off-topic.

skibster, you are one of the few names i recognise from both threads and ive noticed youre always friendly and a very helpful poster. However if im brutally honest (and im nothing if not honest!) i have to say that sometimes when ive looked on the chat thread ive noticed some disparaging remarks about this thread (not from everyone i must add) and that, coupled with the obvious closeness of the posters has put me off from joining in (bcoz i love this thread lol) I realise as a newbie there is probably a history that i am not aware of but is is definately off putting (for me anyway)
Anyway, hopefully it will all get sorted soon and everyone will be happy..xxx

Thanks for the kind words. The thing about Refugees is that if more people really used that thread to chat boots, it wouldn't turn into a group of just a few people chatting about their kids and whatnot, and it could easily move away from that now if more people really wanted to use it (which they don't seem to). And I'm not really arguing that they do use it as it simply won't happen on a large scale. And I also noticed the "disparaging" remarks you saw, and they weren't really a theme of that board or brutal -- mostly a few people saying they preferred to go on Refugees than Grabbit -- but I think they would've been better left unsaid as things so easily get blown out of proportion in Cyberville. But a new thread has been started and there's no reason there couldn't be a reboot of the whole tone/use of Refugees if people wanted that. But I think many people didn't go in there for the simple reason we're seeing now in the current discussion, which is they typically want to keep chat and grabbits in one spot (and we've seen this cycle repeated soooo often in the year I've been on this thread, it's like the thread gets girl flu, lol. And once it settles down this time, it'll come up again in a month or two).

So don't worry, it will get sorted -- people will talk about the issue of talking until people are sick of it all, and right about then everything will all go back to exactly the same as before the issue took hold. If we could just go on as we were and stop talking about whether we should go on as we were it would be sweeter than chocolate. Well, maybe not sweeter ... mmmm, chocolate ...

This is exactly the place to post it, cos I was going to do Canary Wharf/Galleons Reach/Beckton on Thursday, and if it's not worth going to, that'll save me a journey, so thanks very much for the heads up.

    xx

SS could you let me know what you get at the Beckton store when you go because I tried to go today but the stooopid Rotherhithe Tunnel was closed AGAIN and Tower Bridge was a nightmare for traffic. Basically, I couldn't escape from SE London today!!!

    Thanks Luvie x

I was not telling you what you can or can not comment on.

I was making the point that this is a grabbit, whilst a certain element of chat and discussion is tolerated by MSE, when the boots grabbit has got out of hand before it has been closed etc.

It is also not pleasant reading for other people. If you want to post about it all night long, that is fine by me, I just wanted to put across that not everyone would find it as refreshing as you do.

Did a grand tour of Boots today, not much happening though.

Best bargain was in Emersons green (thought that would make you laugh angie ;))

Hahah it did make me laugh!!! I'm not surprised you didn't get any bargains in Emersons!! I was going to go to Eastgate this afternoon but then I read you were going before me so knew if anything was there it would be gone by the time I got there hahahahaha!!!!!! So I stayed home instead and saved my money!!

Don't know where you will get the reduced No7 - I bought some ages back in Cribbs but they now have the new ones in stock there at full price. I think Bristol is abit dry on bargains right now!!!
  • JMHO.

I read the comments on the last "refugee" thread  I am only too aware there are 2 sides to every story.

    Nuff said.

Lets get this back to Boots' grabbit bargains. Maybe a bit of sidelining ie: got OH's fave aftershave was reduced, etc, but not for general chit chat.

Maybe we should keep "DD is having her ears pierced" to the refugee thread.

Maybe the regs on "refugee" could stop the intimate personal messages - you lot do know each other. Some of your messages could be PM or email/IM.

:) Maybe keep "refugees" light hearted and chatty (much as you would in a pub with peeps you don't know) and save the personal stuff for private convos.

Might make people feel more welcome :)
