  • Quick question the the Max Factor GWP scanning at £0.00?
Would it go through SS tills with the new mascara (the one with £3 off atm?)
or would i have to spend the full £15?

It works on the website for less than a £15 spend (aslong as £15 before mascara discount comes off) so might be worth a try instore.

    This boring old chestnut again!

Where are the people who complain about the chat on the thread to mods etc. I see they haven't contributed to the debate the same as they don't contribute to the thread with their shopping lists and glitches. Nah too much like hard work they just want other people's finds posted so they can dash out and grab.

I bet they don't have the politeness to thank the posters either.

I will not post on Boots Refugees thread. Not interested in facebook so where do I post or am I officially homeless  If so I won't post and will go back to email and pm system.

Thanks to OP who posted about No7 foundation compact being reduced. DD's fav compact foundation so have stocked for her.:D

Just logged on and found myself in 3 threads! Didn't know which was the helpful, glitch-rich but (oops) chatty Grabbit, and which was the a$$ kicking/a$$ licking and chatty Refugees :rotfl: So I'll thank a few posts, then pop off to lie down in a darkened room :D

I'm not going to comment on the above

However...we are all adults and presumably all understand that nasty comments, snidey remarks etc will not get us anywhere

We all may not agree with others at times or even like them, but surely we can all just try a little harder to be civil and move on

    The past is the past

Can everyone please, please move on?

Not because I'm asking, but because if people keep bringing up things it makes those who are not involved feel very uncomfortable

I did not mean anything bad by my previous post saying about getting my foot bit off, so it is not a case of double standards

I just simply feel that those who dip into the threads and those not involved simply are fed up of having a bad taste in their mouths and that if things keep getting posted that are not nice that one or if not both of the threads could potentially get closed permanantly

It was lighthearted and although presumptious to say I would get my foot bitten off, I did, so it is lucky I can see the funny side of things :D

Yes, but as loads of us have said before, you can't grasp the "tone" of the written word, and that's where the confusion lies.

Also, and again I do apologise cos I can't remember who-sed-it as opposed to who-dunn-it, there have been several, dare I say "unpleasant" comments of late made when referring to Grabbit by Refugees, and I really can't see why? Am I missing something?

Because I felt I was eaves-dropping on Refugees, I stopped even reading it for a while, and then thought I'd just look at it once or twice a week.

May I ask you something please, and I am not being argumentative, or provocative, it's just I'd like to know. Do feel free to tell me it's none of my business, I won't be offended (that's a lie, I shall probably weep into the rest of my tissues!)

There seem to be a number of you on Refugees who know each other extremely well, to the extent that you know each others' chuildren's names, ages, birthdays etc, and you exchange presents amongst yourselves.

The only people I know in Real Life to that extent, I talk to either face to face, on the phone, by email, or text. If I was knowledgeable enough to understand Facebook, which obviously a lot of you do, cos you've joined "Here Come The Girls", I'd "talk" via that medium as well.

I'd just like to know why you all choose to exchange extremely private information in a public forum? If I'm on the train and I phone DH to give him my whereabouts, he is always saying "Speak up gel, I can't 'ear you!" cos I consider it a private conversation.

BTW my name is neither Sandra nor Scarlett, but when I was a child, a great aunt told me that one of our ancestors was called Zandra Scarlett (very exotic!), and I thought that if I ever "broke into films", that would be my stage name!

The only film I have ever appeared in, apart from family videos, is a training film run by the Local Education Authority, when I was teaching, where my starring role was to pretend to mark an essay with a cluster of children round me.

Unfortunately, one of the Little Darlings moved at the crucial time, but it was a very good shot of my right hand, holding my pen! :T :T

I don't read any other Boots threads apart from this one, so I have no idea of any of the histories between other MSE'ers on other threads.

I have not noticed any snidey comments from one Bootser to another on here - or snidey comments about other threads either. So why have them now? What purpose does that serve? If we read other threads and don't want to participate in them, fair enough, we're all entitled to make that choice. Its no reason to have a pop about that thread on a completely different one, IMHO. All that does is make other posters feel uncomfortable, and less willing to post.

Lets get back to Bootsing - its why we're all here, isn't it :j ?

Sandra, you've just sent Mr B scrambling off frantically to check his tills!

To keep it on topic, there was talk of reduced No. 7 hand and foot stuff a few days ago. Was this the peach packaged Hand Saviour? (Please say yes!) was it on clearance or sel? Anyone seen it in London? I've got some perkies burning a hol in my new brag book (thanks Vick :T) I need to 'get rid' of these and then slow down on the bootsing for a while icon9.gif- My OH found my stash(es) and questioned the need for so much 'stuff'. so I shall stay out of Boots for oooo, at least a week :rotfl:
    TIA

The lovely SA at Liverpool Street checked the entire range for me, and nothing was reduced. But my Foundation half price thingy was paid for with a Perkie, at the No 7 counter (think someone was querying this) and it went through fine. HTH

    xx

PS - Had the family over today, and put my face on at 9 this morning, and it still looks fine. I mean the foundation. Fine I shall never look, but I just aim for acceptable! A smile helps no end, as it gives a free face lift to your cheeks!

Then why quote a post you are not going to comment on

We have freedom of speech and airing out differences IMHO is refreshing.
  • Here goes with my two penerth worth

How I see it chat on here in inevitable, we chat about our shop and a little bit of something else. As the website grows bigger the members who visit this board get bigger, so more chat happens..... and lets face it, when we get a good shop we want to shout it from the rooftops and where better to write it but here:D

The refugee thread was set up for people to go off and chat over there about anything they wanted too, however it did become very cliquey(sp) and made posters feel like they were unwelcome, now I'm not saying that was done deliberatley, it just happens when firm friendships have been formed.

But maybe this is our chance to get over there and start chatting?? This thread is one of the lovelist on MSE and I fear for its future when discussions like this start up.

This is only my opinion, please dont flame me:D
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

:p would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing :o

The post spoke for itself in my opinion

Yes we have freedom of speech, but I actually TOTALLY DISAGREE with you as the GRABBIT thread is not for all this hoo-haa and i'm sure that MOST posters and lurkers do not find this all REFRESHING I think they find it TIRESOME and alot of them would prefer everyone just got off the merry-go-round and played nicely from now on

Sorry to quote such a long post, but that was an extremely balanced view and well worded and I hope we can all take on board your opinion and advice as it seems you have 'the voice of reason' :)
