Hi all, silly question from a newbie to this thread - could someone tell me what some of the abbreviations you all use mean? ACM, GWP, Perkies? I am trying to get to grips with Bootsing!
Welcome
If you check out the first page of the thread it says what some of the abbreviations are.
gwp - gift with purchase
acm - advantage card machine
perkies - the current £5 off no7 voucher which is being given out when you spend £5 or more.

Hi goochie
ACM is the Advantage Card Machine, GWP is Gift With Purchase and Perkies are the new No. 7 purple vouchers that they give out when you spend £5 at the moment. If you have a quick look on the first page there is a list of all the abbreviations, hope this helps.
Sorry for the double reply, you beat me to it Sarnd and jamsandwhich0 -
Thank you Jamsandwich, Sarnd and Wendy16 - I will go back to the beginning and read!

Never mind - better too many than none!!
Goochie - another tip which I found helped. If you see a post that could be useful ie; a shopping list, open a blank word document and then cut and paste the info into it. You can then print it out and take it shopping with you - I always saw really useful posts and then couldn't find them again:rolleyes:0 -

I had visions of her, desperately clutching her vouchers, whilst being hauled away, due to Grinning Too Much!!!!

Hi Sandra, there is a link to a new private chat thread on our Boots chat thread IYKWIM. It looked like some of the refugees may have moved on to there for the time being anyway.
I know Moyilla is still around as I have been in regular touch by PM with her lately, as she was concerned about what she had read on refugees. I was able to answer her questions for her. Hopefully she will be back~ What goes around comes around ~0 -

I was wondering the same thing too. I've been keeping an eye on the Country Living hampers as a friend from this board has told me that some of the items in hers have a BBD of the end of February, I was hoping they would quietly be reduced and I would be able to grab one. Alas, I've just checked again and they have vanished from the site, despite showing 27 in stock for weeks now.
Methinks they must have been sold off to the dot com staff or are now languishing in a corner in Beckton.
They were in Beckton at the end of Jan/beg of Feb, cos I remember posting about them, and they were reduced to 25%.
You might see them in a week or 2 .....................

I asked about the re-usable carrier bags today. The very helpful SA pulled one out from under the counter and explained that they cost 10p and would be replced if I wore it out. It's blue with pink butterflies on. She didn't say anything about re-using it but I've noticed on the bottom (in the gusset bit) there are two barcodes, one for use when it's sold and the other says barcode for re-use. I bought one and will give it a go, always have one in my hangbag anyway, may as well be a boots one0
