Moyilla hasn't posted a report of her shopping trip Sandra as to quote Moy "never got on my marathon Boot's trip!!". Moy posted this on another thread on MSE.

Hope you don't mind me quoting you on a post Moyilla

Oh thank you! I was just worried she'd smiled so much :D:D:D that the Men In White Coats had been called!

I had visions of her, desperately clutching her vouchers, whilst being hauled away, due to Grinning Too Much!!!!

Yippee I've just got my despatch email for the Sanctuary stuff!!!! Thanks to the OP.

I'm a sick girl tonight, got a cold and think I have picked up a stomach bug from my niece as I've been vomiting. Hope my parcel comes tomorrow to cheer me up!

Aww ((Hugs)) for you, hope you feel better soon..

Thanks for reminding me - I think these were what I saw half-hidden behind the SAs on the photographic counter in the Maidstone, Chequers Centre branch. Sort of pale blue or lilac, with butterflies on?

    Hi

If anyone has got the elusive H&B Mag looks like there is another reusable bag for your lunch.

Its on page 35 and its called the 'Little Green Lunch Bag' - Diet coke are the sponsers and it costs £1.00. It is available in larger stores.

It is cream with a pink butterfly on it and green stalks. It looks cute.

I haven't seen it in store yet.

Regarding pressies for teachers ........... I loved everything I was given, but that's because at Secondary School, the kids tended to buy the things themselves, rather than DM doing it, and you're just so touched when the kids do this.

But when I did the stint at Primary, I never once heard a Teacher say anything detremental about any gift - though they did rave over some more than others.

Anything in the "smellies" line was always top of the charts, cos they get a lot of choccies, and jewellery is dependant on personal choice, as are books DVDs, CDs, etc.

If I'd received an empty GWP box, or bag, filled with the sort of glitches we're currently getting, I'd have salivated!! HTH

Saw it at CW today! It was hanging next to the apples! Yes, I think "cute" is a good description!

Blimey Angel - they'll think all of their birthdays have come at once :D I'd be tempted to give slightly less, just in case they overshadow any other of the kids presents, iyswim? But that's just me :) Maybe all the kids will give them 3 or 4 items, what do I know? :D

What do the teachers and ex-teachers think?

Edit: Just seen that SandraScarlett's replied x

You're absolutely right there of course Passion. If you give several things that might have only cost a total of £2, but are actually worth £20, that could be a problem.

I'm even having to stop myself giving birthday gifts that cost next to nothing, but are worth £20, cos some people are so embarrassed. If I know them well, I do it, but tell them that I "had a bit of luck in the sales"!!

And I say the same when I give my cheer-up pressies - otherwise I think that peeps might feel obligated to buy you something costing the same, and actually spend that sort of money!

I'm the world's worst for going slightly overboard SS - I make hampers that end up costing me money at times :o because I'll think that because something like a No7 nail file/buffer was free, it was free (if that makes sense LOL) But rubylou88 usually reminds me, when I tell her what I'm including in hampers, that I've actually had to spend hard cash to actually get them :o lol.

I looked at the goody bags that someone had paid me to make up earlier, and ended up with half of the contents being removed :rotfl: But there's still more in them than the person could actually buy because of time constraints etc.

I'm sticking to smaller gift sets, very similar to what you describe. Seems a lot easier to add a scrunchie to and a few other bits and bobs (a bit like geordie_lass described in an earlier post for making up men's gifts)

Anyway, I just thought I'd mention it ANGEL50, save you going overboard too xxx
