Isn't there an option to view the threads on the site rather than by email? I thought there was but may be wrong.

    Yes there is.

email junk and the fact that theres someone checking theres every 2 seconds means it is impossible to actually get something. within 5 minutes bidder is already getting frustrated at the influx of 'wants'.

good if you have no life, good if YOU want to freecycle but dont expect to get anything as youll be in 30th place in a queue of 50 to get a washing machine.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

    Experiences obviously vary.
Not everyone who is giving something away gives it away first come first serve, for a start.
If you don't like it fine, but don't insult people who do like it.

This isn't true, not everyone giving something away gives it to the first reply. I've given away quite a few things on freecycle, and some peoples attitudes when asking for stuff is bloody awful!

I love it, have only had good experiences, and yes - I give to the person I find most worthy or needy of it, not the person who writes back in 2 seconds...

Just a small rant about rude people on freecycle grr!

Offered a lot of stuff the other day and recieved in excess of 184 emails in just over 2hours! Why do some people think it is there god given right to have what i offer!
I had one who has now emailed me 15 times, telling me that he is a doctor and his wife is 7 months pregnant therefore it is my duty to give them EVERYTHING that i offered! - yer right!
Then there are the ones that ask for the stuff then dont arrange to collect it
and the ones that do arrange to collect it and never turn up and dont get in contact  why did i bother staying in all day?

On the upside of freecycle i have met some great people including caravanlover who is lovely btw! thats now 2 mse'ers i have met through freecycle and didnt even know it until we were chatting on my doorstep :rotfl:
