Lol - I am always surprised by the number of people who don't say please or thankyou. a really common response is 'I'll take it'. I also hate it when people send a mobile phone number and ask me to ring them - as if it is reasonable to expect me to pay a premium rate in order to give something away!!!0

I picked up a dog bed yesterday and the dog's barely been out of it since :rotfl:
When I offer things I try to arrange a half hour window for people to collect and I do the same when I'm collecting. I've only had one thing not collected but it's just gone to the charity shop instead as no one wanted it when I reoffered. I think it's a great option so that less stuff goes to the tip! :T0 -
oh annie that was another one! the amount of emails i got saying 'i want it my number is .....' and 'when can i get it!'
i think its soo rude i would never speak to anybody like that be it in person on telephone or by email its just called being polite but wanting something from that person and doing it  makes me want to hit that delete button instantly :rotfl:The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

I love freecycle - don't get me wrong, and I use it loads - I just really cringe at some people's manners. I always gush with pleases and thankyous and when-would-it-be-convenient-for-yous - which might explain why I have been offered some lovely things - I don't get why anyone wouldn't be friendly and polite when they are hoping to get something for nothing!!!!0 -

"FAPOP - Fair Active and Polite Offer Policy
I promise that I will allow a decent length of time before gifting my offer to allow those on digest and without constant access to the internet a chance to request my item. I will also consider a polite request group ahead of others and will give due consideration to the more active members"
"-NB - No begging please" (Optional)

Offered a lot of stuff the other day and recieved in excess of 184 emails in just over 2hours! Why do some people think it is there god given right to have what i offer!
I had one who has now emailed me 15 times, telling me that he is a doctor and his wife is 7 months pregnant therefore it is my duty to give them EVERYTHING that i offered! - yer right!
Then there are the ones that ask for the stuff then dont arrange to collect it
and the ones that do arrange to collect it and never turn up and dont get in contact  why did i bother staying in all day?
On the upside of freecycle i have met some great people including caravanlover who is lovely btw! thats now 2 mse'ers i have met through freecycle and didnt even know it until we were chatting on my doorstep :rotfl:
Usually moderators will deal with someone like your doctor.

All that I offer is yours for the taking0 -
I've been a Brighton member for a few months now and am hooked!!! I've had some great things and have given away stuff too. It is a fab way to help each other out and recycle - the more members the better. I wasn't sure whether I could post this site on here as I'm new to MSE but I'm glad it has been done.0
