I'm with the gillingham group and recently helped out a group by offering a computer monitor. It's a great idea, the more people register, the more there is available :TThis time next year Rodney...0

A bit fed up with the parasites silly 'wanteds' though, so I'd like to see the listings policed a bit better.
Fair enough for the genuine 'wants' but have seen a want for a Land Rover Chassis, recently.
Still , guess you never know.
There's no harm asking for things, but some people do take the mick and ask for virtually their whole house to be filled! "I want a play house, jacuzzi, oh and a car!" ok, that's a bit far fetched but it's not been far off that recently on my local one. (Gloucestershire). A letter was actually sent today after someone complained about the number of wanteds. Apparently there's a limit to one a week per member.
I really have no problem with wanteds in general, but some people do seem to put a shopping list up! But I do love freecycle!:rudolf:0 -
After reading this I decided to have my first look at freecycle. Had to register first to gain access to message boards, which I didn't mind doing. I found the whole layout quite confusing though.
Things seem to go very quickly - several items that were posted this morning were taken within a couple of hours, so there must be a fair few people using the site.
I suppose I shouldn't have been shocked to see that there was concern over some people taking all they could get their handes on to sell at boot sales etc., but it does make you wonder about the morals of some people.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
I'm regstered for the Buxton an Sheffield groups.i got my friend sorted out with a king size futon at the weekend, from a generous freecycler.
There was a disscussion on the Sheffield forum the other day, regarding how quickly stuff goes thats worth anything. It seems a shame to be just passing it on the to the greedy rather than the needy. It seems that regular feecyclers tend to wait for several replies, and give to the most polite and genuine replies. This seems like a good idea.Or just pick one at random. Is this how it's done in other groups?0 -
Hey Miranda!
The most recent want was the 'digital camera'! You're right though they are taking the mick. Do you thin they'll take much notice of Rae's message though; I doubt it0
