  • I was under the impression that Dooyoo can tell how long you have had a page open before rating, but I wonder if that's true or not.

A lot of people are making themselves obvious as speed readers for rating reviews that are at best only SU, but more likely NU as VU in my opinion - there was a review the other day that was pure gobbledegook yet it had several VU ratings.

I find it quite frustrating as I put a bit of time into reading and rating and sometimes feel I am the only person who did actually read because everyone else seems to have failed to spot its either in the wrong category, isn't in understandable English or is just 150 words of filler.

I've been tempted to PM the four people who rated my very long review one minute after it was posted (handy being able to see times) but I'm not sure if Iw ill or not...I'm a bit of a coward and i don't like confrontation.

I hate when people speed read my reviews and just mark them as VU. It's always the same people and they always appear seconds after I post a review... Of course I love getting VU rates but only if they are applicable, I would much rather get a slightly lower rating and an explanation with constructive criticism than a blank VU which doesn't really help me at all.

For the record I always read peoples reviews fully and review based on my opinion, in fairness most of the scores I give are VU but this is because most of the reviews are very well written, I tend to steer clear of the well known eejits!

I got a PM last week accusing me of speed rating. The review can't have been more than 200 words and I'd actually read it twice because I was deciding between a U and SU. The reviewer accused me of speed rating, because I should have given a VU in their opinion.
Moving onto a better place...Ciao

Dooyoo will check out accusations of speed-rating but, unless it's prolific are unlikely to do very much about it. PM DooyooTeam the details (or email them) - they may be able to put it together with other information.

Although annoying the alternative is the Ciao method where you CAN'T rate for a period of time - IMHO this is worse as it means you have to hover on the short, rubbish reviews before you can rate them and it encourages people just to open multiple windows and rate without reading as they close them all down!

Today I rated a guides review as somewhat useful. She messaged me and asked why and I responded. She then sent a really patronising reply to me saying that my rating was unfair and not to rate her reviews anymore because I don't rate subjectively.
Funny how her definition of not rating subjectively is when someone doesn't rate her as very useful!

How do guides and dooyoo expect people to rate honestly when they then send horrible messages to people who dont' think every review they write is very useful!

I am of course complaining to dooyoo about this...she blocked me because I didnt' rate her review as very useful! That's shocking behaviour for a guide...what if I need guidance in her category?

I'm completely shocked. She seemed like such a decent member before.

I've no idea who the guide is, or what the review was, but do keep in mind that one can only be blocked from PMs, not from reviews, comments or rates.

You've done the right thing re speaking to dooyoo - it may just be a misunderstanding (but as I say, I don't know who, what, why, or wherefore :) )

    Cheers

I'm sorry to say but some of the guides, (no one on here) are quite appalling in their attitude. I would have presumed Dooyoo selected them as guides because they are fair, but it seems the power has gone to some people's heads.

    Sadly I agree with this.

I find most of the guides to be pleasant and fair overall but some do have an attitude which is, to be polite, somewhat lacking IMO.

I think that all members, including guides, also have to realise that if you give out SU ratings you have to accept a few back and accept they aren't all revenge ratings.

Surely she should be looking for objective ratings? Rating subjectively means you can always do what you like!

Still - it's not a good example to set and I think you're right to raise it with Dooyoo.
