You do not get a discount on any purchase that is reduced or on special offer.
Thanks for the post, I was not aware, but how on earth do they get round the sex & age discrimination laws? If I fancied a fight I would just try it out [64 year old male] and report them, but to be honest life is too short & I can't be ar*ed
And as it seems to my untutored eye everything in H & B seems to be on offer of some sort [bit like MFI] the choice must be limited:rotfl:Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Hi, my dad will be 60 in September, he still works full time and is still married and living with my mum who also works full time.
The question i have is what discounts and freebies will he be entitled to?
Do you get any reductions on Council Tax or any bills?
They have both worked all of their lives, paid tax and National Insurance, been law abiding, I would like to think that the honest and hard working folk of this country get abit of a break in their twilight years
Any advice most welcome.
Many Thanks.0 -
All I can think of is the heating allowance, £200 per year, possibly travel passes, hardly earth shattering.
No reduction in Council Tax i'm afraid.
Sadly, this country doesn't give a stuff about people like your Dad i'm afraid.0 -
Your father will be entitled to his free bus pass and also free prescriptions.
There is a cut off date for the winter fuel allowance of 25th September. I was 60 last year at the end of September so did not qualify. Luckily my husband is older than me so he had the £200.0 -
Free prescriptions, free eye tests.
