Yes fuel payment requires you're 60 by September of the year in question, also UK wide local bus pass, and free prescriptions0

Thank-you.:beer:Kawasaki z750 Rider!0

You can also get your B&Q Wednesday discount card and other discounts. 75% off in Specsavers for one. Cheaper cinema at Vue before 5pm another.
BTW the bus pass is country related - England, or Wales. We've had them in Wales for a while, but can only use in England if the journey began in Wales.
Enjoy being 60! It's great! :jMember #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Check with your local Council.
I get free Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre admission before 4.30 p.m.
Its great to pop along for free sauna and jacuzzi in this weather.
Also in Scotland you can buy a senior citizen (they define it as over 60) railcard for £24 and you get one third off rail fares.
Always ask at any attraction you attend. The odd one does discounts for the over 60s, even if you are a man! It's always worth asking.
Hope this helps.0 -
Apply for the Boots over 60's card. If you already have an `advantage` card you need to fill in the form and they update that.
I believe it an extra 10% off all Boots items.0 -
Re the http://www.seniorsdiscounts.co.uk webpage. I subscribed and found that they have very little to offer in the Scotland/Glasgow area, and I was disturbed to discover my login password displayed on their members webpage - surely this sould be omitted, or displayed as *** asterisks and only confirmed in the welcome email. The site is not secure enough for me - we all have to be careful of who sees what nowadays!0

And you get a cheaper subscription if you belong to the National Trust. And look out for pensioner concessions at hairdressers, many of whom will offer cheaper prices to pensioners on certain days of the week. And if you're retiring at 60, run a car and are likely to be doing a lower mileage because you're not commuting to work, tell your insurance company when you renew your premium as you might get a cheaper rate. And if you're going to be home all day, your House contents insurance might end up being a little cheaper too because you're a lower burglary risk.0

as an aside, am I right we all got an extra £60 cold weather payment recently?, if this cold weather continues, will it be repeated? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

It does count for your £10 bonus (and this year the extra £60) as my husband has had them both and IB is the only State Benefit he has.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
