Hey people, look at the three 'sticky' posts at the top of this thread.
The third one is labelled 'DISCOUNTS' or similar...............
full of what you want, including the Boots deal.0 -
So I will merge this thread into that one ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

I know about that but I was looking for one with a straight up to date list and ask for pointers.0 -

I've had a look at the Coventry BS's site. It has drawbacks. For example, what if you need a current account as well as a savings account? You have to pay in £1000 per month into the current account. I can't do that. 'You have access to it (the saver account) with a Cashlink card'. They don't say how you go about transferring any of it to your current account. I don't use much cash at all nowadays - most of my banking is done online.
The Coventry BS over-60s saver account says: 'you can deposit up to £2000 a month'. Big deal! How many people can do that?
I've recently switched from Cahoot to Smile and I have a current account (into which pensions income is paid), a savings account and a cash ISA with them.
I think Homebase may have a similar 'discount day' - don't know for sure, haven't looked.
Personally I don't like the idea of being told which day I can get discounts for being a pensioner - if I need something then I need it. But that's just me.
Best wishes
Margaret
Sorry to be pedantic, but Coventry BS do say you can invest UP TO £2000 per month. Meaning £2000 is the upper limit!0 -
Where do I find a list of retail outlets that give discounts for those who are 60 and over?0
-
Grrrr! You are mistaken as I posted it as a separate thread asking if there is somewhere with a straight list of discounts not one that is scattered and mixed with comments over several pages.
You can use the search facility to search within a thread if there is something you are particularly interested in.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I believe that Focus stores now offer 10% every day to over 60's.
Plus, my local swimming pool offers fee swim time to the over 60's.0
