I have been viewing MSE for years and have just registered now to post comments because of your post.
You must report this vile person to the police. Someone who can kill an animal like that is dangerous. At some point during their life they WILL turn their aggression towards people.
I have two beloved moggies, one ours from 10 weeks, one who decided to live with us.
A grim way to welcome you to the posters' ranks, elmcw, but thankyou for doing so.
Your middle para. is precisely one that mumoftwins and I agreed on a short while ago, when she pointed me to this Thread.
What a filthy and diminished excuse for human Life this bestial organism is.
I do hope you've reported it today - do let us know, please.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

this is awful, i agree with other posters though that the RSPCA aren't brilliant at getting their !!!!!! into gear, unfortunately!
if it were me i would
a) inform the police immediately
b) go and find the witness personally and beg them to help with making a statement
c) go to the boss of the builing firm and tell them what action you are taking and why
d) inform Cats Protection League
e) go to the local newspapers with the story (but check with Police if that's ok first)
f) make sure i got the name of the person responsible and as a last resort if the Police cannot proceed i would ensure that everyone in the area knows what a total lunatic the builder is
xhugsx
First, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, that is truly awful. I'd be in pieces if that happened to any of mine. How anyone could be so cruel is beyond me.
I'd agree with the above, but I'd add g) Find out who did it and send the boys round (in fact, I'd be going round there with a shovel myself and heaven help the man). We've got building work going on round the corner from us and if my over-friendly cat gets in the way the builders have been asked to point him back in the direction of home. If any of them hurt him it would be the last thing they'd do. My DP, not to mention our cat loving neighbours, would see to that if nothing else.
I really hope you are able to get this man prosecuted - all being well he'll lose his job too. I know that sounds a horrible thing to say but scum like him deserve to suffer. :mad:0 -
thanks for all of the support and kind words.
I have spoken to the rspca several times over the phone on the weekend, and the animal cruelty officer was going to site today to investigate. Unfortunately i have been unable to trace the witness, so unless the person confesses ( not going to happen) or one of the co workers speaks out, there isn't anythin else that can be done.
I have also phoned the company who are building the development, to make a complaint, the person in charge was astonished, and gave me his name mobile number, he immediately comtacted the site manager to find out any information, he also said there are only 2 small groups of workers ons site so if i had a description etc he could probably narrow it down to the person responsible. Also that he didn't want that kind of person working for him.
So until i mange to track down the witness, i am worried and feel guilty that the person responsible will get away... very frustrating0 -
who was the witness? how did you find out about it?
Just wondering if we can think of any avenues to try...0 -

If the person in charge has a good idea who it is then it won't be long before 'word gets out' about him?
I should imagine that even if he does get away with it, his life won't be the same again?
I hope to goodness he is charged, too many bad people get away with things like this.

OMG, I've only just read your thread and am sitting here in tears. I can't believe that someone would do something so cruel to an animal. Whoever this person ( and I use the term person lightly because obviously this individual is about as low down as you could humanly possibly get!!!) is he needs to be caught and locked up ( preferably with the key thrown away!!!).. If he's treated a defenceless animal like this what could he do to something or somebody else??? You've got my deepest sympathy and I wish you lots of luck in tracking him down because if something like this ever happened to my beloved cat I'd be absolutely horrified.loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0

Fair play to the building company - at least they've been supportive.
Good luck with tracking down the witness."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
