but keeping it on topic i went to tescos today and managed to find one of those self scanning things and checked the following
Xbox - no joy
PS2 - no joy
PSP - no joy
motorola v220 - no joy
alcatel mobile phone - no joy
poppy mobile phone - no joy
motorola slvr - no joy
some nokia one for £139.97 - no joy
all of these had the yellow reduction tag but scanned through at there correct price. Never mind
the tesco was in Beverly
So, Tesco are in the wrong when the prices are incorrect and people are overcharged yet when all the things that MIGHT have been acquired for free are actually priced correctly tesco are still wrong as no one got anything for free.....
That is just sick and shows the extent of some peoples greed..
I agree with moneysaving and i like free stuff as much as the next man but surely there are limits????
Please dont take this as a personal attack bahney as it is not aimed directly at you, your post is simply indicitave of a growing trend although it is interesting to note that all the items you have posted that you checked are high value and easily resellable as opposed to beans or crisps etc.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

The way I see it (using your own example), if you dont want 2 x 14" TVs then you dont want 2 x 14" TVs. Yet if they're on R&R all of a sudden you do want 2 x 14" TVs??
I wasn't singling you out, I just think that many people on these forums have lost sight of the moneysaving idea and are just plain greedy. The saddest part is the consumer at large will be the people who eventually lose out.... these huge retailers will wise up, and have begun doing so already.0 -

Went to claim a R+R for an overcharge this evening. Customer Services first offered me the difference, but then when I challenged them with the R+R policy, they said they would have to call the manager.
The manager came over, says she has seen me before trying to claim refunds for other items, and that she
She then goes on to advise me that I am now banned from the store as a result!.
What can or should i do?. Please help
When you speak to HO, make sure that you slip into the conversation that you intend to provide details of your overcharges to the recently announced inveestigation into price fixing now to be undertaken by the office of fair trading, mentioning you have been overcharged on more than one occassion as evidenced by the managers ban !! My view is that they would be less than happy about any adverse publicity on pricing at this present moment in time. May send copies of my overcharge receipts to the OFT although the postage costs would be rather excessive !!! :rotfl:Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items.0 -
ok just to put an end to this (hopefully)
the 2X 14" inch tv's were an example some guy managed to get 2 about 25 pages before this one, so it was one i could think of at that moment in time, i was not intending on selling anything i got from doing this, the idea of replaceing the dodgy tv in my bedroom with a better one for FREE! it appealed and a spare to put in the loft? result!
as for me only selecting high price items, well sorry but to tell the truth i think asking for a few packet of crisps for free is not really something i am interested in, the time it takes for someone to walk over check the price, refund the diffrence to my card etc is it worth it? i am sure to many of you it would be, but personally not me.
as for the "interesting to note that all the items you have posted that you checked are high value and easily resellable" comment well i can assume you have not gotten anything from tescos for free with the value of say more then a couple of pound? those in glass houses and all that.
i have just cancled my mobile phone contract (like most of you i am a bit skint) so i am tempted to go pay as you go, hence the interest in the phones.
the games consoles should be obvious, who wouldent want one? i did my weekly shop at tescos and had a full trolly of food and stuff can you serioustly expect me to self scan everything and have a photographic memory of what every price was? all in hope that i might get a free tin of beans ? big respect to people who have the time and energy to do that but it's not for me (not with cranky kids with me anyway)
hope this clears this up once and for all0 -

one last thing write to the managing director and not to customer services as you are likely to get a few buts kicked on the way back down to the customer services dept hence making people want to make you happy very quickly"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -

Yep, paranoia. It is a legal requirement to supply your name and address when purchasing a TV, TV recording device or set top box, regardless of where you purchase it. If a club card is used, the information from that is used. If not, the cashier needs to get the information from you. How would the checkout operator have any clue you are going to get a refund on it?Who or what was I before you came in to my life
