That is just sick and shows the extent of some peoples greed..RDA wrote:I concur. Perhaps some of you guys should consider getting a life ......
It seems that the anti-r&r'ers are starting to make their true feelings known. These are both pretty strong personal attacks. One accusing someone who hasn't even had a refund of greed and their methods as SICK.
It seems strange to me why anyone not interested in Tesco's policy would waste their time looking on this forum. Are we really the ones with no lives?
I thought this board was about helping people not throw personal comments about.0 -

I absolutely agree, but is it permitted to make personal attacks?0 -

kind of speaks for itself.
I have on many occasions stated that i have no problems with people using the R&R policy. I Do have an interest and if you bothered to read the whole thread you would see why and how.
Why are the methods sick? If you went into currys, dixons, argos or any other retail chain and said "Excuse me, i want to check some stuff just to see if i can get it free" what would they say in return? In effect, that is exactly what has been done and boasted about by numerous posters.
Is it greedy? To recycle the example already used, 2 x 14" TVs - were they going to be bought anyway? Did the poster buy them even though they werent free? Did the poster buy any of the goods mentioned after realising they were not going to get a refund...the answer speaks for iteslf.
We have had many debates on the morals of bulk R&Ring, in fact it is rather silly reading the same arguments again and again, however what started as a thread about the tesco misprice policy has degenerated into a "what can i get for free" thread.
Most of the posts and arguments on here now are not even about the policy but about the attitude of the customer service staff (which admittedly is rather poor at times).
Quite a few people will tell you that i am more than willing to help when and where i can, but I refuse to condone or have good points to say about those that blatantly abuse a policy that is there to help those that have genuinely found that they have been overcharged.
BTW, I Love the username - wish i had thought of that one!!Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

Well said Dude.
Time for Duder to add his piece.
Calm it down Dudes - this is a community where we help and respect each other, discuss issues, exchange opinions - we should respect each other's opinions even when these do not match our own.
Now that the entire community is calmI firmly believe that with R&R it's each to their own.
You can R&R when you check your weekly shop receipt or buy 20 copies of Gordy on DVD or buy enough Coke and Skips to fill a skip or drive around the South-West of England looking for that illusive XBOX - each to their own.
Each to their own.
Take her easy Dudes,

Write to head office and compalin about the way you have been treated and that you have been made to feel like a criminal in front of the entire store and now reel humiliated and also wish to know why you have been banned.
You should also state that you were excersising your rights has you had noticed that you had been over charged for several item. (in this case it seems you didnt get your refund) so state you will be taking this issue up with trading standard with a veiw to taking legal action. After all you were excersising your consumer rights having been overcharged and point out you were following tescos policy on this. May also be prudent to suggest that this will also be taken to the papers ( the hate bad press)
Just because you check what you purchase and have a good memory for the SEL price is not your fault
Yes they can ban you for no reason but they are unlikely to follow this up if you go back into the store, they are unlikely to recognise you. Lets face it 1 face out of 100000 that visit every week.
Depending on which company you complain to, ie my company automatical issue gift vouchers an d a letter of appology, i have seen these issued to know shop lifters which got my back up. The store manager still told them they werent welcome and pushed them out of the door. :rotfl:
I would have thought any bad publicity is the last thing MR T needs right now........

Thanks for the response spa2k.
Firstly may I say how your posts on here are often the voice of reason and not a Tesco mouthpiece. I welcome your contribution and find myself agreeing in the main with what you say.
Unfortunately on this point we differ, I don't think anyone has the right to describe another as greedy, or sick. Unless one is talking about oneself.
As the Dudemeister commented people have different views on r&r and about the policy in general.
You say it is for genuine shoppers who have been overcharged. Why is it not for MSE'ers who have been overcharged. Do Tesco have one policy for people who know about it and one for those who don't?
I've read on here about people getting 20 packs of meat, but it isn't for me to say whether that is greedy or sick. If Tesco are prepared to sell 20 of a product maybe that could be considered greedy, but again I wouldn't say Tesco are greedy I'll leave that to the OFT!0 -

Does this policy only apply where you have been charged a higher price than any of the labels?
I've bought an item on BOGOF, the SEL says 9.97 but the BOGOF label says 9.96. My receipt shows I was charged 9.96. Can I get a refund on this?0
