But do you think that you might arouse suspicion if you get 3
Maybe buying 3 was excessive in hindsight, but I was going to give one to my daughter and the kids have got parties in the next couple of weeks. It made sense at the time.

littlemisscheap wrote:Well no I would not do the photo route either, maybe have someone with you to witness the event comes in handy as they can then fret all they like about whether or not a SEL was there (BTW I've had a CS staff try to chuck a label aside standing right in front of a SEL with me and state it's expired so isn't valid... having this halo that I have, I picked it up for her to see the label again! :A ) but if a product has the price stickered on it then no harm in picking up half a dozen as they'd only be sold higher (not to mention illegally) to more unsuspecting customers - *sigh* yet another good deed!

How about realising you have been overcharged after going through the till, then go and take a photo of the SEL before going for your refund?0 -
I've arrived at the conclusion that some CS staff initially just offer the difference in SEL and scan price so they themselves can pocket the rest when you've left the store.0

And I've arrived at the conclusion that Tesco have systems in place to stop their staff thieving from them...0 -

i'm trying to work out if this post is serious or not......
If it is serious then the OP needs to review what they have said, accusing employees of theft is rather serious and insulting.
if not then perhaps a smiley or two wouldnt go amiss.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

There are no moral issues here and the legal situation is perfectly clear.
A retailer is within their rights to sell an item that does not have a price shown for it. A customer has to decide whether or not they wish to buy it.
If a retailer removes a price (for whatever reason), the customer is at liberty to ask the price, with a view to making decision about a purchase.
Only if more than one price is shown does the situation become contentious as the lower price must be charged by law. However, the retailer is under no obligation to sell the item to you.
No, the customer should not have "obviously" been able to buy the item at £17.97. Using this arguement, would you claim the same if the price was
reduced?
Don't you think if it has been decided by Mr T that he is going to sell x product for a certain price but it is at a higher price on the system then the system should be corrected and not that the sel should be removed?? Whilst it may not be illegal it seems a little unfair if you purchase something at one store when you could buy it cheaper at anpther store less than a few miles away. If you know it's cheaper elsewhere then you have the choice to purchase it at the other store but what about those poor unsuspecting customers who pay the higher price not knowing it could be found cheaper in another tescos. Now i understand the customer chooses to pay that price when they pick it up of the shelf- but come on how many of us would pay a higher price if we had a choice- not many i'm sure.:rotfl:Red Hot by name, Red hot by nature. :rotfl:0 -

Ebay has recently had its fair share of Tesco rrs. Seen loads phones, sony cd players and games etc. Anyone actually achieved a higher price than the SEL on ebay??? Spose one can actually make a decent after tax living doing it.0
