Thanks
No.
It's not an overcharge!
Best before and use by are two different things.
As you are not going to eat the plant it doesn't matter really.
You obviously liked the palnt and thought it was healthy.
The sell by date is purely a recommendation for Tesco.Keep SmilingSite member number 24

Dude - I've lugged a Dyson around Tescos to Price Check.
You look like a bit of a prat - but it's all part of R&Ring.

Before I went to the self scan with the shopping, I checked to make sure it was still there!! Got to CS asked for a refund and the woman sent a lad off to check the label. He came back and said he couldn't find it. So I took him to the label and guess what......it was gone!!! Are Tesco fighting back with their own dirty tricks? Did the lad swipe it? Was I being watched by security? The moral, is go with the goffer when they are checking the labels!!
I know what you mean. Maybe I'm being paranoid but when I was in Tesco today, as soon as I got to the Checkout a CS lady came and whispered something to the checkout operator. Whenever I've done a R+R, I've had to wait ages, seems like a Manager sweeps the store to remove the evidence.
In my store, Whitney Houston is SEL at £17 ish. It seems that when a R+R is called, Tesco change the SEL to the highest price. Whether this is to stop further R+R, or is part of a sales tactic - i.e they will reduce it back to £8 in 4 weeks and claim that it has 50% off. At the end of the day, Tesco are selling a 6 year old CD for £17!0 -

Odd Fellow
The point is that the overcharge was pointed out to them on three separate occasions and they did nothing about it. Only when I reported it to Trading Standards did someone seem to take notice.
Out of interest what do T.S. do when when they are informed of Mr T's overcharges? Do they just have a friendly word...dont see many cases in court!!!0 -

I got a wallace and gromit dvd today and i went with the cs back to the sel (she removed it in front of me).
But do you think that you might arouse suspicion if you get 30 -

Hi odd fellow,
it is wrong (i feel) because you could pop down the road at another Tesco`s and get it for 17.97 because they leave the SEL on showing it should be 17.97, even if customers get an r&r on it, this is obviously the price it should have been. Once the SEL was removed the customer could not even take it through at 19.97 and get a correction at the till to 17.97 the price it should be! the SEL was yellow, they were highlighting "fab offer , this dvd player for...) I know all about Tesco don`t have to sell it to you etc etc. The point is for a number of weeks it is being advertised at 17.97, unsuspecting customers taking it through till thinking they got a bargain pay 19.97 for it, then when highlighted they just remove SEL for 17.97 and sell it at the overcharge price of 19.97, now it is back to 17.97, maybe it is now going through the till correct, but it just proves that 17.97 is the price EVERYONE should have been buying it for. What happens in the case of interim prices on request then?? i work in retail, maybe it is different for supermarkets?0 -
