I've just got back from Tesco's and had tried to adapt to my new found MSE skills.... I failed miserably though! :( I bought some strawberries because I knew they were on here often and did actually need some anyway. When I checked my receipt they went through the till cheaper than on the pack! Obviously I can't go back and claim a refund for the whole lot because I've already cheated them out of a penny?

I also tried to take the approach of looking for products with two prices on but then it occured to me that if I bought it and it was indeed the lower price and someone had forgotten to take the higher price off then I'd have no choice but to keep it.

One big thing I did try was - trying to remember the price. But when you've filled your basket up and got to the till, how can you possibly remember each of their prices?

I'd appreciate anyone posting or PM'ing me with a Tesco Misprice Guide please. Or if there is one on here somewhere that I can read through?

    Thanks :)

    Gary

when u purposely look for misprices and see two stickersthat are differant use the instore scanners to check the price

Unless you want to be thrown out then I wouldn't bother with photos. Tesco do not allow unauthorised photographs to be taken in their stores.
Does it state this anywhere in store, just want to make sure i'm not one to cause trouble but after todays episode I feel a bit annoyed

  • Want to hear something hilarious? I walked into an extra store had a large handbag on me but did not plan on buying anything as had someone with me who wanted to shop and insisted on dragging me with them.

As I browsed the first few aisles, I noticed that a horrid CS member seemed to call for security as I turned around, I found that I was being blatantly followed around the store which I found so funny as I have a tactic for store detectives & security people that follow me, if I'm not in a rush which I wasn't in this case as I had time to kill whilst the other person did their shop, I just turn around and start to follow them - well they soon give up watching you and can rarely ask you if you are following them as you always stand with your face to their back and if they do I just say no - Are you sure it's not you that's following me? If they ask again, I just say, Noooo, I think it must be you that's following me....etc. (even if they're in front - they soon get in such a shock and fuss trying to argue that hang on you're the one behind all the time) - they soon stop!

Anyway, after so much fun watching the security guard squirm uneasily, I had a call to say I'm done shopping I'm just at the checkout so I decided to call it a day even though it was good fun for a short while. I walked up to the CS desk (with the security guard watching me wondering what happened that has just spared him from being followed till the end of his shift) and this time just gave a few receipts for previous cash and no clubcard trips (in case of any misprice) to get my points added on which the CS guy prompty did thinking how is it possible for one person to visit so many stores in so little time*!?*!?!*? I then also pulled out some multibuy items I needed refunded from my bag (not for mispriced items).

Little did I know that the CS man managed to somehow give me a full refund twice over as no multibuy (bogof) came off due to offer now having ended and he didn't even notice despite scanning the receipt for like 5 minutes wondering where the catch was upon seeing it was me again? So I just got paid £10 by a somewhat confused CS staff to have so much fun following their now very nervous security guard, duh!

After which we then both went home! (WITH NO MISPRICES!)

I don't think it's so much the actual R&Rs that trigger the security guards interest, it's the behaviour of looking for R&Rs. A shopper who spends a hour in a shop, most of the time just browsing shelfs picking up products, putting them back etc and leaves with only a pint of milk and some eggs isn't behaving "normally". This type of behaviour is often associated with shoplifters and so attracts the attention of any half decent security guard.

    YMMV - Rufus.
