My local had the Technika dvd players SEL showing at £27 odd. Didn't get one, as I don't want one. Are they scanning at £29? I've got too many dvd players as it is!

Give them to charity or a good cause or a raffle or anything! You don't need to always R&R for yourself. Trust me - you'll feel warm inside too. :D
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
  • Hi, Would I be able to get a R+R, I got two packs of DVD+R Discs and there was no sign at all saying they was on offer, the SEL said £9.97 but they scanned as buyonegetonefree. has anybody had any luck arguing that its a misprice (even though its clearly in your favor) to get R+R?

The post you've quoted in your reply has been moved to the Discussion thread. However, my original post on the misprices thread was deleted, not moved. If I am wrong, please show me where it is on this thread? It said exactly the same as the post you quoted (apart from the bit asking why my post had been removed).
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

the misprices thread is only for any new misprices information, the discussion thread is for anything else related to the Tesco policy so your post is now in the correct place.

Tesco policy is if you are charged a *higher* price than shown on either the SEL or product, you can ask for a R+R. You weren't, so it is a bit cheeky to ask for money back.

You have about as much chance of arguing this point than Man Utd have of winning the FA Cup this year... :rotfl:

I am aware of that, but that is not what I am asking. Although I did think that the Misprices thread was for any misprices still available (including location), rather than just new misprices. I'm asking why my original post on the Misprices thread (not the one you've quoted and moved) was deleted rather than moved over to here. In fact, the post I replied to (from someone who picked up a Technika DVD player in Yarmouth) has also now been deleted rather than moved to this thread.

Checked out what I can. Doncaster is strange. Sounds like one of the scanguides (well the socket for it) is damaged. Do they have a 2nd one though? (I would have expected at least 2 at an extra store). Not entirely sure why this one is taking so long.

As for Chesterfield they need new scanguides but it sounds like there is a supply issue at the moment.

Thanks for the info! I don't go to Doncaster or Chesterfield often so can't say how long they have been broken, but it's at least a month. I've only found 1 in the Doncaster Extra which is in the clothing section, and I can't see any mention of another one in the price scanner location thread :(

    A question for Tars.
Do you have insider knowledge on the in-store scanners? One of the Tesco's in Peterborough is a Tesco Extra. I read your post to someone else on this thread about expecting there to be at least 2 scanners in an extra store. How can I locate where one is in this store - apart from the obvious of asking at cs and rousing their suspicion as to my motive.
Can someone please put a picture on this thread of a scanner, so I know what I'm looking for.
    Many thanks

MSErs look dodgy enough when in Tesco, imagine the looks we would get if we got caught taking photos of scanners! :rotfl:

Seriously though, they're little blue boxes stuck on walls, usually with a sign saying "Price check point" or something. In my experience, there's often one hiding somewhere in the clothing section. Dog food/crisp sections are another area where they might have one. :)
