I'm afraid I couldnt find any details on Chorley. I don't think they have reported it. If you're keen I would suggest pressing them alittle more instore to do something about it. Or contact the customer services helpline as they actually apply alot of pressure on stores if they stores are slacking on things.
I don't think I can really stick my nose in on this to pressure them.0 -
Bought a box of 24 cans of cokes from a shelf with 3 or 4 small yellow shelf labels stating £6.75 plus a bigger yellow label also £6.75 - no other price on the shelf. Charged £6.95 at the till.
A CSA, together with the CS Leader insisted that I hadn't been overcharged because there was a printed price on the box of £6.95 - and there were also (a very few) other boxes on this shelf that were printed £6.75. Eventually they did refund me but not before making the biggest fuss and giving me lots of dirty looks. I remained polite - very difficult in the face of such idiocy.
I really don't know how they can stand day in day out in front of their own clearly worded policy and not understand it
Question for our Tesco insiders - is there standard training given to CSAs working on the CS Desk on this policy and on when it does and doesn't apply? I really would have thought the above situation was a clear example of when it should apply - yet both the Assistant and then the Leader were very reluctant to give me a full refund.0 -
I was told that last week a csr insited the r+r didnt apply to electricals I said why didnt it say that behind the counter and she said nothing and ignored that question I emailed custs service 1 wk latter they replied and also didn answer my question instead gave me 5 examples of what is and isnt a misprice helpful I know!
So my nearest Tesco seem all too happy to take my money on electricals but when I'm overcharged not so eager to honour the r+r policy on them!
So I have decided to no longer buy electricals from tesco no matter how cheap they are! It's just not worth the hassle!!!!0 -
ratmin wrote:The thing is i dont think it is incompetence i think this is managers trying to do eveything NOT to do an R&R. I received a phone call earlier from a friend who picked up the Technika DVD and the manager at his store said R&R's did not apply to electrical goods. He did of course point out that no such thing was written in the Tesco promise but im wondering if instructions have been given out by head office to all managers to try and fob off customers by giving them stupid excuses.
Managers are not instructed to fob off customers. They are however measured on a number of things and RVR's would make them look bad. Thus they will do what they think is right to try and protect themselves. Thus some will say questionable things to avoid R&R's by the sound of it. I really wish I could come along on some of the posters shopping trips when managers tell lies like this.
Not applying to electrical goods indeed. What a load of steaming ******0 -

You're most welcome. I wish I could R&R but even if I found a real one I wouldn't risk it. I keep an eye on the other threads but haven't found anything of use yet (although I'm trying to save pennies at the moment).0 -
I had a look for the DVD 105 at Stockport and Burnage. All marked up at £29.97 (or similar, I forget), so no-go.

Hmmm...Looks like my post was removed for some strange reason.
Firstly, I congratulate you on finding a mispriced electrical item in Yarmouth, as they are normally spot on there (in the electrical dept. anyway!).
Secondly, you can still pick up this dvd player in Lowestoft Tesco (A12), as they also have it priced at £27.
Anyone want to explain why my post was removed? It said virtually the same thing as I've just posted, including the location of a tesco store where people can still get the Technika DVD player on r&r.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

same deal 1.49 half price until the 28th i think, i didnt check the liquid as i have a good stock of that:dance: " i wanna be the minority! " :dance:0 -
Couldn't believe it today.
I try to buy 7 items and 3 mistakes....2 due to the chatting cashier.
Double charged for 1 item, not charged for another and R+R on something else.
The store must be tightening up on their R+R with staff as the FMC member who bought over the SEL was "noodles were on the wrong shelf...please don't record it as me as wasn't my fault"
They weren't on the wrong shelf at all as there were 2 SELs next to each other, both detailing the same product, same weight, different price. They just didn't take off the old SEL when putting the new one on...
Felt like going back and getting the mispriced Tecknica CD player to prove a point, but didn't as wouldn't have been able to carry it home!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
