As far as im concerned they are wrong, that was the price shown on the SEL the customer should not be expected to read the small print. The misprices thread is littered with r&rs with exactly the same circumstances, hoovers, wine, beer etc etc.If you go back tomorrow you can bet the yellow POS will not be there, all i can say imho that a R&R should most certainly applied in this instance.0

Funnily enough i looked at this phone today in two different stores. One had the phone at £59.97,the other had it at £69.97 or £59.97 if you purchased £10 of airtime(yellow A5 POS)expiry 22/02/06 i think?.0

Tars wrote:Have you ever asked about this when your instore. I wouldnt be surprised if half the time the staff don't realise the scanguides are !!!!!!ed as they never use them. I can have a peek to see if they have logged a problem with them if you can tell me a store name or two
Chorley Extra both scanners not working, lovely guy said he didnt know why0 -
My local had the Technika dvd players SEL showing at £27 odd. Didn't get one, as I don't want one. Are they scanning at £29? I've got too many dvd players as it is!In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

ratmin wrote:Well ive just returned from Tesco's and after arguing for 15 minutes i was refused an R&R. After i pointed to the yellow label price the manager pointed out to me that the label also states that the promotion ends on 19/2/06. I would like to go back tomorrow and argue but i dont know what else to say. Has anybody got any ideas.
Doesnt matter what the date says on the label. The only things on there that are really for the customer is the product description and the price. Sounds like simple case for R&R in my opinion.0 -

The fact of the matter is that the store is advertising the price at £49.97. You were charged £59.97. Was there anything on the shelf to indicate you would be charged £59.97? No. Regardless of the promotion end date on the label, Tesco are not showing a valid price on this product and therefore you should be charged the advertised one.
You have been overcharged, R&R applies.
The incompetence of whom?0 -
Spa2k and Tars, your help on these threads is fab. I'm guessing neither of you is a serial RRer. Do you use any of the other threads on this site. The Boots one is good!!;)Auntie Savingsgirl 24/9/06 :j0

I've mentioned it at Doncaster, but they CS didn't seem interested.
Checked out what I can. Doncaster is strange. Sounds like one of the scanguides (well the socket for it) is damaged. Do they have a 2nd one though? (I would have expected at least 2 at an extra store). Not entirely sure why this one is taking so long.
As for Chesterfield they need new scanguides but it sounds like there is a supply issue at the moment.
*This next part is purely an educated guess on my part*. As the scanguides aren't used by staff and generally arent used by average customers I doubt a high priority is placed on them. Thus the company isn't going to spend large sums of cash on a fast support contract or obtaining new units. That said I'm alittle disappointed as to how slow some of these fixes are.0 -
spa2k wrote:certain store staff that dont understand the policy!!
The thing is i dont think it is incompetence i think this is managers trying to do eveything NOT to do an R&R. I received a phone call earlier from a friend who picked up the Technika DVD and the manager at his store said R&R's did not apply to electrical goods. He did of course point out that no such thing was written in the Tesco promise but im wondering if instructions have been given out by head office to all managers to try and fob off customers by giving them stupid excuses.0
