Morning all!
Tired and zombie-ish this morning, but no work tonight so hooray! Whizzed the dog out, s&s the kitchen, given girl cat a stern talking to about aiming in the litter tray properly (sorry to those eating!), tidied the sitting room, delivered dd3 to school early for her trip and put bm and wm on.
Lunch for kids was hm sausage rolls, M&S teacake, apple, yoghurt raisins, babybel (yep I gave in and bought them, telling the kids that it'd be better to donate the whole amount to Red Nose Day wasn't washing with them!)
Dinner will be who knows what! Can't remember what is on the meal plan! Hopefully something quick and easy!
Off to visit my friend and her new babe today, I love babies! So taking cake and looking forward to a good gossip.
Happy birthday Smokey and Halight, hope you both have lovely days xx

Morning all
RedRuby - thats great about your daughter, we should all be proud of our kids so boast away!
Trazy - welcome here, I really like using Stardrops I seem to get a better shine on stainless steel stuff using that and a microfibre cloth than any other products. Tip though, make sure you use rubber gloves as I find it REALLY drying on my hands! Enjoy!
RavyLesley - sounds like you've had a hard few days, I bet the WM is glad of the rest now after washin iccky clothes & sheets all the time. Glad everyone is better and hope you manage to sidestep it too. I hate being ill...
Betheebee - get used to forking out money for them!:D Thats why you need MSE:money:
Halight - Happy Birthday
SmokyBabe - Happy Birthday too!
Sunnygirl - its been so good to hear the news of your dad, its amazing the recovery that people can have these days the DR & nurses are amazing and what they know these days compared to just 10 years ago can make a huge difference to someones quality of life. Best wishes for his recovery and stick in there, you're all doing fantastic!
Hugs to anyone I forgot!
I've got a really busy OS day today, ED has turned really fussy about packed lunch and OH is starving with his lunches lately so I'm making loads of things to stick in the freezer for them today. I made cherry flapjacks and mini frittatas last night, today I'm planning to make bread, rolls, cheese & marmite straws, cheesy biscuits, pizza whirls. Also gonna fill some tortilla wraps with tuna & sweetcorn, and pitta bread with cheese & carrot to stick in the freezer. Plus I need to work out next months menuplan, clean our bedroom and the bathroom, take ED swimming and decide whats for tea:eek: . So busy busy busy, might need hugs later when I've had a breakdown due to exhustion lol!!!:rotfl:See you later......0 -
:hello: redruby
Well done to your daughter!:T
Happy Birthday Smokybabe :bdaycake:
Happy Birthday Halight :bdaycake:
Hug to PennyPincher and hope you start to feel a bit better soon.
Washing machine is just finishing so about to hang stuff out on the line to dry.
Need to catch the weekly market later to buy free range eggs.
I had hoped to get DH to drive me to Marks and Spencer for the £10 meal deal but he may have to be somewhere else.
Have been slowly but surely talking down his retirement date . Got him from 65to 63 years, then down to 62 (January 2010) - then said I did not want him having to drive all over the place another winter, so maybe October this year. If the Government is planning another looting of pensions then he may have to go even earlier.
DH is at the dentist for a check up so will offer him a cooked breakfast when he gets back if he feels up to it.
DDs birthday present from her sisters has arrived (an MP3 player) which I only ordered from Amazon on Monday so very pleased.
Hug to anyone having a rough time.
Welcome to Trazy :hello:
Going to make DH a cooked breakfast in the Remoska as a treat.
See you all later"This site is addictive!"

Morning all!!
Felt very OS last night.... whilst tea was cooking (shepherds pie with sweet potato mash) I made a banana and syrup loaf, using up some manky bananas, which would have gone on the compost if OH had got to them first
We're still eating the chocolate brownies that I made on Sunday with our packed lunches, and they are still lovely and squishy and chocolate-y
Tea tonight is butternut squash lasagne, never made it before, so will be fun!
I've got to meal plan our next 2 weeks out today, ready for shopping at the weekend... cue much looking through books and my recipe file for inspiration.
Am also debating whether to try out some early potatoes in the garden this weekend, or to be sensible and leave them a bit longer.0 -
Good morning everyone - hope you are all well today?
Happy Birthday to Smokeybabe and Halight :bdaycake: :bdaycake:Hope you both enjoy your day!
Busy at work, so only got time to post quickly. Did a load of washing last night, but haven't a snowball's hope of getting it out on the line, so it's on the airers in the back porch.
My sister is at home just now with her two wee ones, so it's great catching up with them! My mum is delighted at getting to see them for a few days.
Best be getting on with things - hope you all have a good day!0 -
Thanks everybody for making me feel so welcome.
Have made a start on the stardrops by doing my bathroom, Im hooked already. followed the tip about the rubber gloves too :beer:If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. - Mark TwainNappies and government ministers need to be changed frequently and for the same reason0 -
Sunnygirl thats brilliant news about your Dad
Have they set up any support for your Mum?
If you have a local carers centre it may be worth giving them a ring as they are a great source of info if your Dad needs anything and also just incase your Mum needs a bit of support
XX
Thanks again for all your good wishes :A:A

Morning:j
Happy birthday Smokeybabe and Halight
Just spent an hour sorting finances and doing paperwork and phonecalls etc.
Have a busy day today, huuuuuge pile of ironing still here and need to do some bakingtoo.
Am making a lasagne today for tea. OH going to his mates after work to sort both our laptops out as having problems with them so it is easy for him to heat up later.
I will eat mine watching the Masterchef final:D I want the man with the beard to win, can`t remember his name:rolleyes:
DS will be having chicken pie, homemade as he won`t tolerate any veg in them, just chicken and veloute sauce.
D&DD glad it made you laugh:rotfl: , DS went to a friends house recently for tea who also has ASD, DS took his own tea with him:rotfl: . Do you ever get to go out for meals with DS3? Just wondered as it is a no go with DS!
Sunnygirl I second the idea of going to the Carers centre. I find it invaluable for support and advice.
DS is taking part in some more Autism research with Prof Baron Cohen ( an expert in autism). He is on their register and gets called upon for research from time to time. This one is looking at head circumference at birth and up to 6 years. I have no idea what this has to do with Autism but I do know that DS was 99.9 centile for head circumference at birth:eek: Ouch!!
well better get my butt off the chair and get cracking!
have a good day
