Well, I emailed the details through and have just had a very disappointing reply. They will be "back in contact shortly to advise on how we can get this problem rectified for you" - and in the meantime I have been asked to ring the internet team to see if they can assist me.
What bit of " the system doesn't recognise my account" hasn't gone in? There isn't anything in the world I or an internet team can do to sort that. People have tried to link my accounts and it hasn't worked.
Sorry Ebico Rep if I sound hacked off but I am - all I want to do is to be able to enter my meter reading online or over the phone and I can't do either because the computer says no. I don't want advising as to how it can be rectified - I'd like it rectified and not pointed back to calling a department, especially after you apparently primed them the issue was coming their way.

Ebico are good as they don't have tiered rates for their gas and no Standing charge / tiers for their Elec.
Other companies look good BUT when you factor these (as above) in you will have to pay more in the long run, if you are a low user.
There are other energy company discount schemes for low income groups BUT some make you wait for up to a year for the discount, whilst you are paying more!!!
BUT still keeping looking around comparison sites etc.0 -

so can i enter gas/electric readings online for ebico fuels when im switched to you. or is it better to phone the meter line with them.
and will i still get quarterly bills if i enter my meter readings online.
its a good way to make sure the bills are accurate - is it better to enter readings on a certain day of the month for billing purposes etc?

You can enter on line, but I found [using SE site] that everytime they want address etc, seems pointless repetition as one is already logged in, so I use the freephone number which is quick, easy & freeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Just a word of warning, the first time you do it check that the meter reading has gone through - if you don't receive an updated bill within 2 weeks then it hasn't (if you're responding to an estimated bill). The system doesn't recognise my gas account number at the mo, so the reading is never updated but you don't get a warning. Hopefully it's just a one-off and yours will be ok.0 -

I find it incredibly easy to enter meter readings online, just log into your account and click on the appropriate tab for gas and/or electricity. Couldn't be simpler!
Also, you are billed on a 6mthly basis - end of March and September - and these are usually a proper reading, not estimated, but I always enter my own readings in the first week or so of March/September just to make sure.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
