now found that his bank account is £500 overdrawn and one cc doesn't seem to have been paid this year.Methinks a trip to CAB is called for!! He thinks he was really clever yesterday as he only spent £2.50 on lunch!!!
  • Oh dear, it's going to be a tough learning curve I think. Thinking of you. x

Hmm - now we begin to see where the money goes. At a fiver a day, lunch costs £1250 per year. He hasnot got tuppence for lunch - let alone £2.50.

If you go to CAB, you must book an appointment with a specialist debt advisor. warning it takes weeks to get one.

Alternatively, you could get him to do the CCCS remedy on-line (sit with him?) and that might frighten him into action.

Or let him to ring NDL or CCCS in the evening, although he will have to redail constantly to get through. It is however better for CCCS if he fills in the on-line remedy, as this means the staff member can see his situation immediately.

Hiya, dear me this is awful, your doing everything you can to help this man out.

I read a post earlier in this section and noted it was mentioned they could do a charge order??

Is there any possible way you could get the mortgage just in your name so this could not happen so if they tried you couldn't be held liable and wouldn't lose home.. hopefully wont come to this but just worried for your future as seems he isn't doing anything but let you carry the burden of all these debts.

After reading this i am more concerned about you and your children than him and wouldn't want you to lose home.
I am now debt free :j:jsince January 2009
but really need to learn how to save and budget to get some savings behind me

Didn't want to read and run without saying I think you're doing brilliantly and are so calm and together.

  • Hi Ladybez, I havent been on for a while so just caught up with your thread. Just wanted to say hang on in there, you've shown so much strength already :) the only thing i would say is, you say you're not going to pay his debts for him etc, and at the moment it seems like you're prepping things, but please dont get sucked into it. Dont just carry on and do all the donkey work. Once you've got the facts together, let HIM deal with it. it sounds like you've done enough already to me

Big hugs and keep safe x

Sorry have been unable to post due to poorly computer!!! Still no further forward really. OH still says he's no idea what he's spent the money on and also it's none of my business, my reply was in that case neither is sorting it all out, then we spent a couple of days ignoring each other!! CAB says it will take at least four weeks to get an appointment, so still waiting
