Hi, I've been lurking for ages but thought I might join in!
Wm is on (again) and we're off to get some eggs in a min. My DS made some pancakes last week with a bit of help and will be making them again. I was really proud of him as he managed to read the recipe from the book and make the batter. I might let him try cooking them tonight - but I worry about him burning himself (he's 6) I'm also trying to declutter the house, not helped by DH who is a hoarder. I also want to get some fabric pieces cut as I have my quilting group tonight. I'm trying to get ready for my quilting weekend away in March.
Hugs to everyone who needs them!0 -
Would it be possible to banish the dogs long enough to sand & stain / varnish the boards? We only have 2 rooms with carpet in our house (granted never any dogs & no kids any more) but they are the original boards from 1936 and have Ronseal varnish & stain on......
Hhmmm, I don't know... they're not in great condition in the first place (cos the house is so old) but I guess that we'd be better off at least sealing them with something... I shall ask OH, as he is a great mind behind DIY here!!
Thanks!!!0 -
Thanks to all for the kind well wishes. I suppose that even though I posted a few weeks ago that DH would be made redundant I guess that somewhere deep inside I nwas hoping it wouldnt really happen.
I have so much to catch up on here with what has been happening:eek:
Louby Lou a warm OS welcome
WS, one of the things I managed to keep up on was your blog, how is LB's paws? I hope he is ok and give him a hug from his virtual auntie. Excercise isn't happening atm, by the time I get home and made dinner etc, then I just collapse into a heap on the sofa or bed:o
I think what made me feel better last night was thriftlady's chocolate pud...yummmmm that is always guaranteed to make me smile (and develop more bulges)0 -

Penny_Pincher - Hope you're OK too!
moneysavingdiva - Thinking of you (((HUGS)))
((((HUGS)))) to all who need them but whom I haven't mentioned by name
Managed to get up and dressed without disturbing DH this morning and was able to get some bedding out of the laundry basket and downstairs in to the WM. DH doesn't always sleep well so I tend to creep out of the bedroom in my dressing gown and end up sitting around doing nothing (well, apart from coming on here:rolleyes: ) because I can't do housework in my dr/gown as the sleeves get in the way, so today has made a change
Tonight's dinner will be roast pork - got a nice little loin joint with crackling yesterday at Mr SI hate making pancakes so we won't be having those!
Best wishes

Morning all.....................((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))0 if you need one.
I was up and out before the streets were aired this morning to Mr T's to do the rest of my shopping which came in at £52.82   so I will use all of my £140 food budget this month and its a 5 weeker. I got the 5p off a litre for fuel so put 2 months diesel in the car another £26.........came to £24.70.:D
All the shopping put away, cleared up tea drunk.......and a large pot of leek soup on the stove for lunch.
OH has retired to bed with a Dizzy.........two yesterday...........hey ho......still wracks me off he seems to be ok and then bang away we go again, very depressing.
Builders in the next door vacant apartment, so quite a bit of banging and crashing!!!
Off now to read the rest of todays thread.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Csarina - has DH had his ears checked out re the dizzy spells/nausea?
Take care - DG[/quote]
Yes DG he has....in total he has had 2 sets of balance tests a brain scan and a scan of his left ear.............we are waiting for the consultant to decide when to see him again and tell us what is going on, in the mean time I get more and more frustrated, and it doesn't do him much good either, this has been going on since last July and we still are no wiser!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Little bear's paws are fine - and were about four minutes after the accident. Of course, I had a complete dippy fit!
I am in the next room to him and I can hear him being mischievous. I am dreading going back to him, as I hurt my back again putting some of the shopping away - loads more to get away and I think I will struggle. He has already switched the tv off at the mains while I was watching and lost all the settings on the pile of complicated equipment that is dear heart's domain. And somehow the band holding the doors of the built in cupboard went missing - though I don't know how he got hold of it the two suspects are him and evil cat.
And evil cat was asleep upstairs at the time.
Little bear sends hugs to all his virtual family, and as he has just eaten a big handful of raisins the hugs are a bit sticky and there is a risk of seeds.
Nothing Old Style to report.Waiting for back to settle down. If it doesn't I don't know how I will get little bear to the movement group
Painkillers haven't kicked in.
I am on my way (nervously) back to him.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
