    Hello everybody,

I haven't posted a great deal over the last few days. :o Went down to the club on Friday night with DD & DS2. Had a few too many. :o Whipped them both in snooker. DH won the carton of beer raffle so we all sort of staggered home. :D Took me the weekend to recover. :p Been to see DSis yesterday and had DGS all day today. Got him tomorrow and he's sleeping over.

Been rather busy today. Hope to do the floors early tomorrow. It's been so humid here the last week. I'm heartily sick of it.

Meanmarie Sorry to hear about Luca. <hugs>
Chrisca I promise I'll get them done by this week.
Mudgekin Special thoughts go to you.

Well hope you all have a great day. <hugs> to those not well. Be good. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all.

    (((Meanmarie)))

Off out with the dog shortly,am later than usual and he's giving me dirty looks.

DH is working in the garage making a window frame for some friends. He's been resisting doing it for years as its got a curved top and curved bars in it so its really time consuming and awkward ,but he's now so bored sat doing nothing that he's giving it a go.He's had to buy a special cutter to make the moulding, and borrowed a router(cuts the moulding out) so I hope its going ok-not heard any swearing so all could be well! The only trouble is he's got a board all set up with different bits on and its lying on top of the freezer so I cant get anything out for tea.So its def pancakes-just have to go and get some eggs and lemon,oh and more milk

    Bye for now xx

    Morning all! :hello:

Meanmarie - I'm so sorry that you've lost Luca :grouphug: As Crisca said, those we love never leave us in spirit

Snowy - you poor thing. Write everything down, right down to the tiniest comment. Then you've got your back covered if you need it. Plus, sometimes writing it down helps in itself.

Mioliere - Wow, sounds like a plan! Your OH has done the right thing regarding his quotes. I know plenty of people who have come unstuck by pricing themselves too low. It's hard, but sometimes not winning the job is better financially that getting it, though psychologically it is harsh.

    Tru - :grouphug:

Ruth - welcome! :hello: I used to have a job like that. I ended up sneaking books in with me :rotfl:

Celyn - wow! I would love to know enough about mushrooms to forage for them properly. Mushrooming used to be my mum's hobby, and she filled me with so many scare stories (and pointed out so many that looked like ones she was picking but were actually something nasty) that I've always been reluctant. There's a ranger at our country park who occassionally organises expeditions, but he's not allowed to any more because the council don't want to pay the insurance :( Also, my MIL sounds like yours. She once told me that if I had a shred of respect for Dave I'd quit university and stay at home like women should. Now I am at home she says I should be contributing more money to the household :wall: I managed to deal with the situation by falling out with her entirely and banning her from my house :rotfl: Perhaps not the ideal route to take, but it works for me!

Taplady - hope everything turns out okay. You've reminded me I've got my smear on Thursday. How I hate them. Still, looking at what's happened to poor Jade Goody it's one appointment I won't be shirking.

Huge hugs to those who are poorly, sad and absent :grouphug:

Huge hugs to those who sent me messages yesterday :grouphug: I am okay, I just had an appointment with the CPN and it always makes me feel really down. Then I go to sleep and the next morning I feel a lot better. She wants me to apply for DLA and sickness benefits and I can see where she's coming from, but I don't feel like what I've got is a disability, if you see what I mean, but she says it's not just money, I need to be careful about getting my national insurance paid and she said we need a safety net for if I get bad again and Dave has to take time off to look after me like last time. I know she's being sensible but it just doesn't feel right. I think I'm going to try and get a part-time job instead.

Squiggly - I like my pancakes with maple syrup (Xmas gift from my mum). Dave likes his overcooked

Hope everyone has a good day xxx
  • Morning all!

Haven't been on for a while, so sending big (((HUGS))) to everyone that needs them...

Had a very busy weekend. We had some friends over on Saturday night, and I cooked a lovely lamb shoulder - yum!

OH spent all Saturday laying some new lino in half the kitchen (new to us - from Freecycle) and it looked super. Came home from work yesterday to find the dogs had trashed it  . OH was lying on the bed in the dark all depressed after coming home and seeing his floor trashed. It's the 6th lot of flooring we've tried in 18 months. Don't know what else to try really, but the bare boards are being trashed without flooring on, as they are the only throughfare to the rest of the house.

Got my hospital appointment through for my ultrasound and kidney tests - next week!! Have booked a day off work, just cos I can...

Work is still the same-old, same-old... I just keep reminding myself that I am lucky to have a job, even if 70% of the time I hate it....

Have got a homemade choc brownie for my elevenses - can't wait!
  • Morning guys!!

    Happy Pancake Day!!

Got lots done yesterday, especially the deep clean of the kitchen that was meant to be done on Sunday! Kitchen looking sparkly and clean, but doubt it will stay like that for long! I am hoping on deep cleaning each room over the next couple of weeks as we have the In-Laws down for Mothers day. They don't come round often so want the house to look nice when they do.

    Plans for today...

Washing again! Hope to get some out on the line, really dont want to use the tumbe dryer!

    Deep clean dining room.

    Workout DVD / Wii Fit

Go and do some painting at my Mum's house for a couple of hours.

Dinner today is Chilli pasta bake and veg. No pancakes today as we are in and out this evening due to work, beaver scouts and I am on my computer course, so no time to be doing pancakes, so promised the kids we have pancake day tomorrow!

    Off to do my exercise.
    Bye for now!

I wasn't fancying pancakes, but someone just mentioned Maple syrup! MMM

I'm feeling grotty this morning. Had unidentified 'I don't feel right' feeling last night and have decided now that it's migraine. I don't always get particular symptoms, so not always easy to identify. I have bad head this morning, but just trying to go on as normal...except that I can't face the bright light of SAD lamp. At least no nausea. I had 3 weeks off work with the SAD recently, so don't want to bu99er up my attendance record any more. I have 3 blocks of lessons later followed by some training, then ds's 6th form evening. Oh Joy, Oh Bliss. At least that will be it for work for this week.

There is some soup to take to work for lunch, meatloaf made at the w/e for tea. DS's is provided it at school tonight, DH & I probably eating in shifts, as I don't fancy waiting until half 8 for mine! wonder what is on ds's meal plan for tea tomorrow. It was a good idea getting him to do that!

Enough on the computer, will go and potter for a bit before work. Am ready bar socks, shoes and hair (that's a wig, so brush and shakeout is all that is necessary, sorry if TMI !). I will have to make myself eat something too.

Hope that you all have a good day.

    Morning all!

Grey and drizzley here today, so dog doesn't want to go out, just as well as nor do I! Maybe later! Maybe!

Kids all back at school, so packed lunches for everyone: ham rolls, yoghurt, dd2's choc cake, yoghurt raisins, apple.

Dinner will be something using up fridge stuff - possibly stir fry if there's enough life left in the veg, poss soup, poss nasi goreng as I have leftover pork and rice!

I have tidied so far this morning, now meant to be hoovering, but nope, I'm lurking on here! Will have to get going, also need to put wm and bm on, and slice some sad bananas and pop them in the dehydrator, then think about making some more pickle for a pal who requested some - he is donating apples and onions, oh and a large bag of steak (not quite sure how that relates to pickle making though!).

Must get a move on as a pal is coming over to put up the girls new mirrors and lights and hang another curtain rail and poss a blind if I can twist his arm enough, and there's enough time!

Right, quick shower and brekkie and off I go! Hugs to all xx

Would it be possible to banish the dogs long enough to sand & stain / varnish the boards? We only have 2 rooms with carpet in our house (granted never any dogs & no kids any more) but they are the original boards from 1936 and have Ronseal varnish & stain on......
