Good news with Dad he's coming home today!!!!!! He's got to have physio but his speech is improving everyday so he'll do better at home I' sure. Taking Mum to Asda, the library, the post office & to collect a prescription this morning before we go and collect him then it's all done before he gets home.

Got lovely farm eggs at the weekend so all set for my pancakes tonight.
Not sure what tea will be. DH home today after 8 days away. I have some HM lasagne in freezer so think will take that out now to defrost. I never know how to cook things from frozen in micro.
Ok, off to make my work sandwiches. Cheese and salad today I think. The bread is lovely - organic seeded wholemeal, from the health shop - £2.75. Must get round to making my own,

ed to add - haven't read posts yet but just saw yours SUNNYGIRL :T:T0 -
She is my supervisor and has been there since July 1812 when she was nine:rolleyes:. I cannot be bothered with office politics, I'd much rather walk away than get into an argument I don't want and wouldn't win anyway. I'll see how it goes tomorrow, have a chat with my agency then decide.
Snowy - please tell the agency why you aren't happy, and ask them to tell the company - they need to know & she needs a kick up the bum.The doc wants me to have more blood tests, the same as last time but I have to fast  I feel faint if I don't eat breakfast so I'm going to struggle on the day
Tru - Take a drink of juice & cereal bar/couple of Twink's with you, then you can have a snack before you leave to put you on until you get back home.

Not been around online much this weekend, had in-laws staying then SIL visited as well. Also went visting GreatGrandma! Now today ED goes back to school and suddenly remembered that YD has a playdate today and my DB phoned last night, could he drop in on his way home from a meeting for tea!!!!! We live 100's miles from our relatives so we don't see them very often but when we do its like buses, all at once!! So this morning I have to run round like a blue ar*sed fly trying to get the house acceptable for a visitor at lunchtime, my DB doesn't count.:D I've also got to try to sort out a lunch for a child I don't know very well, whos quite fussy and I haven't got any food!!!! Oh I love days like this, just as well I'm OS and I can improvise otherwise I'd be raiding the Tesco (if I had time lol)
Hope everyone is all ok, haven't been able to keep up so hugs & to everyone as appropriate!
Right off to scour the cupboard & fridge for inspiration!0 -
Morning everyone who's been and all those still to come.
Hugs to everyone even if you don't feel you need one have one anyway cost they are sooooo snuggly and lovely...you always feel better after a hug.
I had pancakes for breakie and will have them for pudding tonight as well ...squeak piggy squeak! lol.
I don't post on here but always try and read it, oh I think I've posted once before!
Gotta get ready for work in a bit, but I really can't be @rsed. Its sooooo quiet at the mo its depressing. I am a general administrator for a plastic moulding company, and while the factory is reasonably busy I am reliant on whats comes in in the post each morning. And it's getting worse and worse. I am spending sooo much time thinking I could be at home ironing! AND I HATE IRONING!!
I've been told by my MD that the company will break even this year (our year goes from jan-dec) so my job is safe, and on the bright side I'm getting paid for doing nothing.
This past year has been rather rubbish for us. MIL was diagnosed with womb cancer mothers day last year, she's still undergoing treatment. My nana passed away on 6th Jan this year very suddenly of cancer, she was only 76. And my aunt has a brain tumour, she's had it 16 years and has it operated on every so many years as it grows and grows. Unfortunately the last op she had has now left her registered blind she's only just 50 but is coping fairly well.
Gosh I've gabbled on for ages, sorry peeps, but it's nice just to talk to people that don't really no me, cheaper than a therapist!
Best get on, need to do the kids packup.

Uh oh!!! Didn't have a clue that it was shrove Tuesday today:eek: Oh well - at least now I don't have to worry about what to do for tea - I'm sure there will be no objections from my boys if I fill them with pancakes,
.
Am in so much shock I could'nt read the thread properly - and that's the truth (plus I overslept lol) - but I read a bit of yesterdays....
Donny gal - thank you soo much for putting me out of my misery about Annie:money: I shall be hunting on the repeat channels to see if I can find it. Mastermind!!! wow - one heck of an achievement. I really do hope I get to see it!
NoahsPennilessMum - I know it's highly unlikely but I do hope that the doc was wrong, it must be awfull for them both to have to deal with it while you DB is away.
Wannabe sybil - vodka eh? Hic... tis goooooooooood x
Not a lot I know, sorry - but I have been very good, working really hard down the lottie, cooked a curry using raw ingredients (well, raw chicken and a jar counts, surely) and spent the entire evening at a comittee meeting (and so was VERY late to bed).
Right - must dash - washing to hang on the line, lottie to dig and milk, eggs and flour to buy!!!!
Best wishes to all and cwtches (welsh hugs) to anyone that needs one.

Morning Everyone
Crikey what a day we had yesterday!
Hubby came home from work on Saturday with a V&D bug and yesterday within the space of ten minutes three of my four tinies succumbed.I have only got two hands but needed to somehow hold three sick bowls, wipe three faces etc. dont think I've had more than two hours sleep all night and feel like my eyes are on stalks!ES hasnt succumbed yet but knowing it is contagious I feel it would be irresponsible to send him to school today.Hopefully things will improve today but considering the youngest two have just brought back the little bit of water I allowed them this morning I'm none too hopeful
Off into town in a bit and hubby is babysitting.I need to collect my boots from the menders.I've got my Lakeland parcel still waiting to be collected so another reason for hubby to be home alone:rotfl:Not much to do on the house front except a massive pile of dirty washing and a couple of carpets to shampoo:eek:
(((((((((Hugs)))))))))) to anyone who needs them today and hope everyone enjoys their pancakes

Morning Friends
((((hugs)))) to all that are in need. I will try and catch up with everything as the day goes on
Well, its been about 10 days since I was last posting and apart from a brief skim of the boards I havent been on much.
DH was finally made redundant last week and ofc is pretty despondant about it, especially since no way will he pass a medical for another job now. I suppose I have felt myself slipping into the abyss for a couple of months but have ben clinging on by the fingernails as I really don't want to go back down the road of clinical depression again but I think despite my denials that it is happening. I will still keep on with the St John's Wort though in the meantime.
I have been trying to be as OS as possible and have been squirreling away cash as often as I can and I counted up my little stash last night and it comes to £600. Not a huge amount by any means but it is there if we need it. We are going to use DH's redundancy payment to pay off the car loan which we just bought last year and he would be heartbroken if it had to go back. That way we will only be left with a bank loan that finishes in August and I can cover that with my pay easily provided I don't have any sick time as I will still be on half pay after the time of from surgery last year.
I made a lasagne last night and both DH and OM commented how deliciously creamy it was. DH asked how I managed it and I had to admit that I had put more porridge in it than usual :rotfl: As I was making it my hand slipped and I added much more than usual. Hw was totally gobsmacked as he never knew I had been adding porridge to things of late. He absolutely detests the stuff as a breakfast cereal.
Dinner tonight will be an omelette and HM wedges I think. My mean plan this week went out the windowI was so wrapped up with everything else that I just didnt get wound to doing one and funnily enough, I feel lost now without one tacked to the fridge.
I'm trying to be good and not snack at all now after stopping smoking at the turn of the year as I have put on about a stone. That should give me spare cash for the stash :T
Hugs~

Morning all, hugs for MM and anyne else that needs one. Mudgekin, sorry to hear about your DH's job - hope it gets better for you soon. moliere - sounds like a wonderful opportunity
Back at work already, having left at 11.40pm last night (16hrs 40 mins - almost a new record, but not quite) *sigh* Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here.
We went to see a flat yesterday and it was horrible. £700 (excluding bills) a month for a very run-down 1 bed unfurnished flat. It's so depressing up here. There were huge mould rings up the walls and you could feel the wind coming in through the glazing  People shouldn't be allowed to let properties like that.
I have new goldfish, they seemed to have settled in okay
I haven't planned what's for tea - it may well be DIY fridge stuff, fridge is full as I popped into ASDA after my walk on Sunday (12 miles away) to get a few bits. I wasn't ruthless enough to fight for the yellow stickered stuff as people were getting really aggressive, although in co-op the nice SA who lives near me reduced down some meat a little more for me, so I got about a kilo of frying steak for just over £1. I will make casserole for the day the outlaws arrive with it I think; I can add alot of the mushrooms from our mushroom hunt too as some of them have a quite meaty texture and will pass as such in enough gravy.
With mushroom hunting - this time of year is very good as there isn't a great deal around that is harmful - even though winter is sparse. I always find that sticking to the ones you know works for us and you get used to where different sorts grow each year. Near the house we have some open, wet sparse beech woodland where we find jelly ears and some poorly maintained birch woods with a lot of dead trees where we find oysters at this time of year. Jelly ears (sometimes called cloud ears; more common in chinese cooking) are great and very useful
I did put some laundry in before I left but didn't switch it on. OH was shattered and I dn't think he would appreciate the washer at 6 am.
I found some very dried dried friut at the back of the cupboard last night, so have it soaking in abowl with some sherry - it will become fruit cake when I have spare few hours to bake :rotfl: :rotfl:
I am worried about the outlaws coming because they do expect me to be the perfect housewife. I am - in their eyes - simply amusing myself with a nice little job until I produce a family. It sounds harsh, but OH's mum has never worked and his dad is terribly dominant and chavanistic with very clear views of what a womans role should be - to the extent he treats OH's mum very poorly. I am very glad of the language barrier sometimes. I'm simply not used to these attitudes because all the women in my family work and all are very strong people. They are significantly older than my parents (25 years or so) and as a comparison my grandmother is a similar age and far more active and busy. My parents are coming to meet them. I am *really* glad they won't be able to communicate as my mother is a force to be reckoned with and certainly wouldn't put up with that sort of stuff. She can win an argument by staring at you.
Right - back to workhave a good day all, cel x
