  • ((((((Marie)))))) - so sorry to hear you have lost Luca, a much loved cat who is at peace.
  • Hello! Late again today - still, better late than never! :o

    Welcome Ruth and LoobyLou!!

Marie - it's a marvellous thing for animals with good family like yourself that when they get too tired to continue they have someone who can do the right thing for them. So many people underestimate how much they can be missed when they are gone - my Mum and I still consider our little dog Jazz as being one of the "people" we miss most who we have lost. :A You realy must take comfort for the fact that you have taken the best possible decisions for Luca up to, and including, the very end. Well done to you.

WS - I have found your blog - it's quite superbly written. Have you considered submitting a trial column for a parenting magazine or similar?

Mudgekin I'm sorry to hear your OH's news. This site is a marevellous resource though and you are in the best place to get all manner of help and advice that will make the next little while easier...of course you know that though. Fingers crossed for things working out better than you are thinking.

Pen-pin - poor you, sounds like a rough time. Take it easy.

In answer to the pancake question, we had ours with sliced banana and toffee sauce - and very tasty they were too!

I've had a stiff neck for a while now, and finally gave in last night and dropped down to a single pillow to see if that helped....woke up this morning with it feeling no better but within a short time of getting up it had become actively painful which is where it has stayed all day - pain running down from the right hand side of my neck into the shoulder and down the back of my arm. :( Not nice - I only twigged on the way home from work that I hoovered right round the flat last night - being short I don't get on with the hoover at all so I'm guessing that is what has made it worse and it's nothing to do with the pillow!

I managed to get to the sorting office yesterday to collect the parcel with the two books I was waiting for - River Cottage Preserves and a Slow Cooker one. Both look excellent and I'm looking forward to having a go at some of the recipes from each. MrEH and I have also agreed that as part of our boirthday presents last in the year we will treat ourselves to a proper preserving pan and thermometer. :T On the subject of treats - the Professional Cookware company at the shopping village we visited on Sunday are having a clearance due to a shop refit - they had the wonderful anodised aluminium roasting pan I've been lusting after reduced to £29.99 so I gave in and bought it - I normally replace with a Tesco medium heavy duty one at £10 or so every year or 18 months so I think it will be a worthwhile investment over time.

DW is loaded and ready to go on later - WM will also go on overnight although I'm a little edgy about that one at the moment - it's sounding rather like the bearings might be going on the drum so we shall see. Tea tonight was chicken stir fry with some nice noodles from the chinese supermarket, with the pancakes for pudding. I've got bolognese sauce out to defrost for tomorrow as if my neck's still bad I won't feel like cooking. :o It was on the meal plan anyway.

    Hello everyone:hello:

I survived another day in the company of the office she devil! I nearly didn't though - she was interfering and being sarcastic so I told her that I didn't like her talking to me like I'm stupid. She denied it, so I said it again! Huh, that shut her up and she huffed like a two year old:rotfl:. It's not nice working there but I really really don't want to make (too many) waves. They don't have many agency staff and this woman is just so incredibly set in her ways. I am getting through the backlog of work at 100mph so I expect I'll get tossed out into the gutter sooner rather than later anyway. Hopefully she'll continue to ignore me for the foreseeable future. I appreciate her help, but I cannot abide her rudeness nor her interfering. So tomorrow is another day and another dollar.

When I got back home this evening my head was absolutely thumping so I hopped into bed and had a snooze for a couple of hours. I feel heaps better though expect that I'll not sleep tonight.

Sorry for the lack of old style content. I haven't actually done anything old style since yesterday.

I have whizzed through the thread - weezl, get off that ladder!!!! In Search Of Me - I am a fan of being weighed in kgs as well, it doesn't feel half as bad when you don't understand the reading. BTW I lost 5 stone in the past too - unfortunately they found me again and brought a couple of friends to stay:o
SunnyGirl, sounds like your Dad has at least got his primary faculties in good running order - the rest will follow, just you wait and see.

I haven't had any pancakes today either, was too busy snoring after work and I don't have the supplies nor the inclination to start cooking now. I'll have some tomorrow instead.

    Good night all

    Snowy

Haven't read past this bit yet :o but the Holiday Inn Express Greenwich is walking distance and very nice & clean for a "value" hotel - breakfast is included too :D

  • Well I've whizzed through a couple of pages ( will go back and thank in a minute:o) but always to be different, GO Weezl!!!! I've had 4 babies, and at the end of each and every pregnancy I was to be found....... either up a ladder, rewiring the house with floorboards up, moving trees ( yes trees!!!!!!!) around the garden, or other " not 9 months pregnant" jobs :D I've had what I consider *easy* deliveries because I've worked up to the end. Each and every midwife has thought I couldn't be * that ready*, but the longest delivery I've had was 5 hours from start to finish!!!! You keep doing what you're doing, and don't listen to these scaredies:rotfl: Believe me, the more you do (physically) the easier the labour:D Good luck!!! ( Pampered lovies have hard labours:D)

OS wise? Prepared loads of veggies for tomorrows old folks Lunchclub. And dreaming of the Autumn holiday, may be to the West Indies, need to do some research:D The Canada break is all booked, even the insurance and parking:T

I beg to disagree. Some of us are more petite shall we say, :D and have more trouble pushing an elephant out of a pinhole. :p
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
