celyn90 and others who fear "outlaw" visits. You don't have to be the perfect housewife, most of them are expecting you not to be, as they have been there, having to learn themselves, and possibly working and keeping house themselves two. Also there are two of you! the OH can do his fair share too. They may be bored out of their mind just sitting there during there visit, and would love to be able to do a job or two to help you out, and are dying to be asked.

My DMIL knew my lack of interest in cooking, not inability, just not interested, so would call me at work and say, would you like to call for your dinner on your way home tonight?, unless things were planned, the answer was always yes, as she was a gorgeous cook, it gave her great pleasure at doing something for us, and she got to see us to, we got a HC meal I had not had to do.:T :T :T

    Good morning all!

Sun is shining here and I'm planning on a day out with dd3, but she's still snoring! lol! Big kids are all back to school today - think the effort of getting out of bed almost killed them though!

OS today I have the wm going, will strip the beds and bung bedding in when it finishes, bm is on, yoghurt not needed as whizzed into Asda just before they shut yesterday and got 3 large tubs of Onken reduced to 10p each! Kitchen was all s&s yesterday, breakfast dishes washes and just need to finish the hoovering after I've had a cuppa!

Kids lunches are sausage rolls, scotch eggs (turned out slightly enormous!), apple, yoghurt, and a fab rabbit shaped malteser bar that dd1 spotted at the checkouts! My lunch will be something from the freezer, dd3 will have a packed lunch as well - by her own request!

Dinner tonight will be pasta - quick and easy, as I suspect they may all be running out of steam when they come in tonight. Will do lots of veg in a tom sauce and plenty of cheese on the top, garlic bread and salad.

Back to work tonight after a lovely lovely week off - had my friend and her boys to stay. Will have a bit of a catch up now, might need another cuppa though! Sure I've missed loads, so hugs to all xx

    Morning all,
I've made sos mash and peas for dinner tonight so I don't have to cook when I get back from painting the house to let. Will hopefully get the sitting room and hallway painted and do 2 bedrooms tomorrow.

DH is staying at home because re-cyclers are collecting some furniture I offered on behalf of DD2. She is deffinately nesting, only 16 days to go.
CANDYGIRL, How is your DD? she must be due soon.

(((((((((((( PUSS, TIRED MUM'S DD, MORWENA, SMOKEY, JACKIO how r u))))))))))) and anyone I've missed, sorry but have been away for nearly a month.
  • Just skimmed so far but Puss14 - Aww! That is terrible, hugs to you. Very upsetting in deed.

My nerves are shot at the moment. SPent all weekend stressing about buying this house and phoned the agent at 9am to put in next offer after the Vendor gave us their price on Thursday. I hate this. We really really want this house but it's so hard holding your nerve.

Will come back and post later. If I wasn' in the office I would be having a large Gin right now:eek:

  • Morning all!

Forget how much I dislike getting up in the morning today!! Is nice to have some peace and quiet with the kids back to school, but was a struggle to get myself out of bed to get them there! I am not a morning person!! :o

Yesterdays plans didn't really go to plan! :o I ended up not doing much and having a lazy day! My excuse....it's the last day of half term and will get more done tomorrow whilst the kids are at school!! lol So I must get on today and get stuff done!!

I am gonna do my workout dvd in a bit, I bought the Dirty Dancing workout, which should be fun!! I love the movie so hoping I will be dancing like Baby by the end of it as well as burning a few calories!! :D

OS wise today....washing x 2 loads, bake blueberry muffins, recycling, pop to tescos for some milk and bread and deep clean bathroom.

Dinner is still undecided at mo as I have some of the sausage mixture left over from the sausage plait yesterday, which I was going to make a pie with, but am now thinking maybe sausage burgers or maybe even meatballs, but think that they may not stick together well? I am thinking adding breadcrumbs and an egg to keep em together, unless anyone else has any suggestions?

    All for now
    Hels xxxxxx

In search of me, I have just read the thread you posted yesterday about the starter bread, can it really last for years ???? does it not go off in that time ?? I would be interested to hear how yours turns out.

I am off to the Dr in a while, sorry if this is tmi but I keep having a horrible stabbing pain up my b*m :o , its always in the small hours, and the pain is terrible, its the worst pain I have ever had, pain killers dont seem to touch it, and I just have to wait the pain out, last night it was 3 hours  , I hope he can give me something to kill the pain, there is no pattern to it at all, and it does not seem to be anything I have eaten, anyway hopefully he will get to the bottom of it :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Better crack on :o :rotfl:

    Morning all,

Came on here while I was having breakfast and now I can't leave! Have exactly 1 hour to blitz living room, then I have to go to jewellers to collect 4 watches belonging to DD4, pay in 5 weeks money to credit union savings, meet depressed cousin for coffee, collect DGS2 from school, collect OH from day hospital. When I get home I need to sort washing which will be finished, do another wash, get some kind of evening meal ready, clear up kitchen and do some knitting. Having done very little last week as had no deadlines, it all seems like too much!

Puss...how dreadful, your poor cat....Luca is not improving really and both DS1 and DD4 think that I am only torturing him by keeping him alive, they both feel that putting him to sleep would be kinder....will have to think myself into this as he has been around for so long I am finding the thought very hard.

Congratulations on job Snowy, you know it will be nice to have some money coming in again!

Sybil...you do know that whatever your efforts, Little Bear will beat you every time...2 year olds are much smarter than adults! Congratulations on being organised enough to get stuff together for charity shops, need to do the same myself, maybe next week!

Hugs to those who cannot sleep...I could sleep for Ireland at present, never seem to get enough, not sure at this stage whether it is depression kicking in again or laziness, when I am being honest I think it is the latter, need to give myself one BIG task every day and make sure I do it....today is livingroom.

Hugs to all in need for whatever reason, and to any who want one for no reason, have a good day all

  • Meanmarie - little bear is far more determined and subtle than I will ever be - and I love him anyway! So sorry to hear about Luca. I am sure that you are doing the right thing by him. It is so hard to make that dreadful decision, but if you know a cat, and know their expressions, you will know when they have had enough. If Luca is not in pain and still able to have some enjoyment in his life, then you are doing the right thing.

Also with depression - you can convince yourself very easily that you are a bad person, this is the voice of experience. I am confident that you are not lazy, and also you are very kind. You have had a tough time with your dear heart so you need to be kind to yourself. The strain does not go away with one night's sleep. You have said such lovely things to me which have really helped. I do hope you feel better soon. Also, I found it easier to break things into smaller chunks. One small corner of a drawer, or less, when I was very bad. Of course, I am not taking my own advice and aiming for high targets for charity shop donations and black bin liners.

Darling father is not visiting this week after all. My vague and haphazard budget and any ghost of a meal plan have completely been trashed now. Also I have a large shipping order from Sainsburys coming tomorrow - fortunately a lot of it will freeze. I am sure that they will deliver in convoy - I got a bit carried away :o So I shall be working very hard to reduce the amount I spend until I have got through this lot - until about July. Also my plans for today revolved around getting ready for father's visit (and the dratted blanket box) and now I should rethink so that I do things in a sensible order.

I think that I shall do things in the way that is always advised against - a bit of ironing here, moving one or two things there, etc as then things are actually likely to get done. I shall be dotting my efforts all over the place, but at least things will be getting done.

    Hugs to all
