    Good morning everyone :hello:

:bdaycake: Happy birthday to Mrs N9eav

    :j :j to Sunnygirl

(((hugs))) to morwenna and all those requiring one.

I can't believe that today is the last day of half term. I've hardly achieved a thing this week - other than going to the dentist, doctor and seeing my parents. Nor have I had a proper night of sleep for the past week.

Lunch today will be tomato soup (HM) and supper will be spag bol, which will be using up the veggies that are trying to escape from the fridge! :rotfl:

    Have a great day all.

    Morning all,
Oh it's good to be home, DD2 spent the day with me y/day doing batch cooking. I want to fill her freezer with meals as she is due on March 12th and is struggling due to her size. Made spicey meatballs in sauce, an apple cake, 2 quiches, a beef casserole and a chicken supreme, 3 loaves, and an apple crumble, most of the ingredients were woopsies.
    I really have missed cooking.

MIOLIERE, Funny you said I'd proberbly be plastering. Well!! One of our tennents moved out on Friday, (we landed Thurs) I inspected the house Fri night and need to decorate just 3 rooms, not to bad but walls are scuffed, only to be expected as the tennent has a 5yr old boy. So guess what I'm doing tomorrow. ;)

After I have finished that house I'm decorating DD2's bedroom, before our hols DH and I put up a new ceiling and 10" of ceiling insulation. A plasterer skimmed it so now the whole room needs to be decorated as it's going to be the birthing room. Need to make some curtains as it only had blinds before.

TIRED MUM, thanks for asking about my DB's. DB1 is still stable with his Prostate Cancer, Sadly DD2 has had deverstating news. One Melanoma growth (he now has over 3 dozen on his torso) that was burnt with radiotherapy has returned with a vengance is bleading and has spread internally. He was told on Friday that he has a 50/50 chance. He has to see his GP tomorrow but wait another 2 weeks to see the Consultant again. I have told him I will cover the cost to go private as every day counts, I don't care what it costs it's his life and quality of it that counts.

Sorry to end on a downer, I'm terrified but keeping a positive state of mind.:o

I am cheesed of with the forum locking me out, I have just typed a long message which took exactly 9 minutes went to post and s***f you!!! it went into the ether.

Morning all...................((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Its a dull grey morning although I can see a bit of lighter sky appearing. Yesterday was lovely, so good to see the sun again, mind you the wind was very cold.

Allotment needs thinking about, I want it to stay dry for another couple of days so I can get ready to move the tayberry and get the spuds in. I have decided to buy plants this year, will sow stuff like lettuce and carrots, but cabbage, beans etc I will get from the nursery. The chap will sell you what ever number you need which is handy. I also need to cover one of the rhubarb crowns to force it. I forced 2 last year, they did very well, so its the third ones turn this year.

I might nip to Asda this morning for their £2 chickens, I know Jamie and HFW would not approve, but I don't have the disposable income they have, cannot afford to spend £7+ on an organic chicken, even though it does us for 3 meals, plus stock from the bones.

OH had a good week, hope it continues, no 'ospital appointment yet.

Need my second mug of coffee..........cheers..............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Morning all
big hugs to all who need one

Just waiting for dd(12) to get out of hr pit and then we're going out. She is dressed but has gone back to bed to finish her book and has tears rolling down her cheeks so I'm not going to disturb her. its one of the Twilight series. If you've read it and it's rude then don't tell me - I prefer blissful ignorance. she tells me that any s*x is of the "dot dot dot and then it was morning" variety. We are off to Fair Trade fortnight launch in Central - this will combine two projects at school as they are doing a Fair Trade Enterprise Thing and a project on Coin Street in Geography. please don't let on that it's educational though - it's hard enough dragging her out these days.

dd(23) has been left with a looooong list of her share of this week's jobs - don't feel sorry for her as she's been on the razzle every night this week - so hopefully house will be nice and tidy when we get back. Lunch will be lots of free Fair Trade samples we hope and tea will be something grabbed on the way home as I'm feeling a bit flu-ish

    have a good day everyone
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

  • Silvercharming - you are a wonderful person. I am afraid I am nowhere near Coventry. One day I hope to visit the cathedral there.

    Morwenna - Hugs

Sunnygirl - it is great news! It sounds like your Dad is coming on by leaps and bounds.

Bethebee - so sorry to hear your news. I will be praying.

Salopman - nosebleeds are not good - I hope you are feeling better.

Little bear is still brushing his teeth at every opportunity but won't have his hair washed, and it is still full of sudacream, despite last night's efforts. With all his crying in last night's bath, I thought we would have the police at the door. Why he should consider it such a form of torture I have no idea

I have no idea what I need to do today, or what we are eating or anything. It is one of those, start with the thing nearest at hand days and thanks to this thread I have sustenance in the freezer. Washing, washing, washing and the resultant ironing look like the main tasks of the day.

I suppose if I am in a washing sort of mood it is worth me scouring the house to see what else I can dig out and really attack it. I have also considered putting little bear's sudacreamed plastic toys into the washing machine, but I think the poor thing wouldn't tolerate that.

Well, my darling father is likely to be staying soon, so I shall have to attack the spare room also, to make it fit for human habitation.

    Hugs to all.

Good morning everyone and huge, huge ((((((hugs))))) to those who need one ... it is so sad that so many people are stressed or unhappy at the moment. As tired mum says, please give yourself some 'me time'.

OH are having a gentle start to the day, breakfast in bed and some reading time. After lunch we are going out for the afternoon - we decided that we don't get out enough and are in danger of settling into a rut. We love ambling around, looking at old buildings ... so we are going to do just that :D

Yesterday's shop at Costco was successful and now my storecupboard is brimming again. I hate it when my supplies get down ... I get twitchy :o OH thinks that we have more than enough tinned tuna though  He does sort everything on the shelves into sell by / use by date order though :D

Have a lovely OS day everyone.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
  • Morning all,
just about to make some bread and rolls for the lunchboxes and have a late breakfast of fruit salad.

OH is fixing my rotary washing line so that it doesn't lean and then he's taking them all swimming and hopefully on to his mother's. So a nice peaceful Sunday morning for me. Once my dough is rising I shall go for a walk and get some fresh air.

We have loads of cold roast pork so tea will be easy tonight-baked spuds, pork and salad.

Not sure about lunch-I've got leftover peas and carrots. I might make leek and potato soup with extra veg.
