The people on this site have very possibly prevented me from ruining my family's lives. Debt was absolutely destroying me and at one point I was suicidal- I was seriously considering just running away and disappearing (mad, totally mad....). A lovely person at the Samaritans recommended this site and to be honest I've not looked back.

I dip in and out of threads and people are always so friendly.

We're now in control of our finances with help from Payplan. I'm not constantly worrying about money and have time and energy to enjoy life.

I really don't think there's another site like this and I cannot thank Martin or the people on the forums here enough!
cheers mateys (I'm not mad any more.....):j

(sorry if the mad thing isn't pc...)

Why shouldn't Martin get paid for the work he does, I get paid for my work.
This site has also changed my life, the way I think about and use money, it has educated me and given me understanding, other members have inspired me with their experiences.
Directly I have claimed money back, indirectly I have probably saved thousands by following advice. Today we are picking up our new vehicle (second hand) we have paid outright, first time we have never had finance, without this site it would never have happened, firstly I wouldn't have had the money and secondly I never really understood how much extra I was paying.
A big thank you to Martin and all his team, and all the helpful contributers on the forum, you have changed my life, just wish I'd met you earlier it would have saved a few tears.

  • To the OP - Irregardless of whether you believe that the information contained here is "common sense" (post 19), your way of thinking is illogical with regards that someone should not make money from providing a service that brings this information together.

At the end of the day, it is clear from the FACTS and EVIDENCE of the many thousands of people (including myself) who have either saved money, earned money or even been able to just understand things a bit better DO EXIST, therefore for the majority this information obviously was not "common sense" was it, or the people that actually had use for it would be in the minority.

Even if it was, then why would there be a problem with a registered company making money from the service they provide and the top dog earning a living from it.

I myself believe Martin to be a genius, how many people can you think of that have been cleaver enough to devise a means of creating a living for themselves based on an idea which helps so many people and yet does not actually cost them a penny to use it.

He has a registered company, run completely legally and chooses to put some of this income to charity.

Would you go demand Richard Branson tell you exactly how much he earns or question what he earns based on the fact that he earns a bomb from his entraprenour skills and how much he chooses of it to direct to charity. No, probably not because its a business. Except the difference there is it cost US to pay Bransons big income when WE pay him for the TV we watch, the planes we travel on, the trains journeys we pay for, the Internet we use etc. etc. Which is completely fine as "business" is justified. Yet, Martin can be cleaver enough to do it and actually help people in a way that doesn't actually cost US anything to use it!!!! and you have a problem with that. Quite simply "like, Doh!!"

He is just as entitled to make money from his legal business as someone else is that charges the users of it, the only difference being he actually has a moral high ground here because even though we do not pay WE earn from it too.......so good on him.

As stated previously..............he has made no effort at all to hide the fact that he does earn from it, but on top of the fact he does it without costing us a penny he happens to choose from his own free will to direct some of this money to charity.

There are massive multi billion pound industries that don't help out the rest of the world with giving some of their earnings to a worthwhile cause who all actually charge its users for its service. Yet.....you have a problem with this site/martin.

Your way of thinking is just completely flawed and if you do indeed seriously have a problem with this then I suggest to you a choice of 2 things.

    1. Attempt to increase your education a little as it is clear that you suffer from ignorance (which is not bliss).

    or

    2. Get yourself down to your doctor as you clearly need some psychological help.
