How much does Martin Lewis take a year from MSE?

Why does it bother you so much? It doesn't cost you anything to be here. The site helps a lot of people and saves them a lot of money. Why shouldn't Martin make money out of it? You make money from what you do presumably, and it probably isn't as helpful to so many people as this site.
He doesn't have to give ANYTHING to charity so anything given is a bonus.
Thank you Martin, most of us here really appreciate what you are doing.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
If you check the op's posting history it is clear that he has issues with this site. I wonder whether he is a rival or is jealous of Martin's success?

style of posting/subject matter is similar to a disgruntled ex member of MSE who's name eludes me at the momentEx forum ambassador

Personally I coud care less how much he makes from the site-he has made me money as well as saving me money. He and others on this site, whether paid or not, have my gratitude for all the the help and advice they provide. I hope he makes more than Bill Gates !I,m so stupid that I forgot the mnemonic0

So how big is Martins chunk??
Not really any of your, my, or anyone elses business is it? Oh go on then, while we're on the subject - how much do YOU earn?wiseoldinvestor wrote: »Just curious, its nothing that isn't in the public domain. Would crack me up laughing if the man himself was creaming of 500k a year of the back of you lot.
Im curious as he makes such a big thing of the charity donation and gives figures etc.
I mean the site is all registered to an accountants in manchester. So what company is running this site???????
Not just the rest of us - you're a member here too. Actually, that fact alone makes [STRIKE]some[/STRIKE] most of your supercilious, sneering posts quite ironic doesn't it! And if it's in the public domain, then you can just toddle off and find out, can't you!Well, I guess if it's a charity then it shouldn't just go into somebodys pocket.
But I pay nothing for using this site, so I don't have any axe to grind.
It's not a charity. Nowhere on the site does it claim to be either. It's a business, that much Martin always makes very clear.wiseoldinvestor wrote: »And as its pushed on the charity side i'd like to see how income is divided. Would it be fair if the company behind this took out 5 mil in profit ans passed on 100K, you are told nothing on here.
What percentage of your monthly earnings do YOU donate to charity? Would it be fair if someone picked over the bones of your paypacket and told you that as you earned "X" (Sorry - don't know what the going rate for pocket money is right now) you should be donating "Y" to charity? Last time I checked, donations to charity were voluntary and optional.wiseoldinvestor wrote: »This is not stirring trouble........
Yes, it is, rather like the majority of your posts.alwaysonthego wrote: »If you check the op's posting history it is clear that he has issues with this site. I wonder whether he is a rival or is jealous of Martin's success?

Quite - agree on both counts. It actually smacks of someone trying to do a pretty nasty smear campaign. Borderine defamatory really. Certainly sounds like someone with a personal problem with the site / Martin that they don't care to come clean about.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Clearly not working, weighed against the responses.0 -
I dont care how much Martin makes because this site (and its members) has saved me lots of money and more importantly this site has educated me.
I now get calls from friends who get into financial trouble and I can look up the relevant links if they have no internet, print off and give it to them
Alternately I just refer them to this site
All this and i have never paid a penny for this priviledge0 -
I don't begrudge Martin a penny. He has provided me with a service that has saved me quite a bit of money, and I would imagine the same for thousands others in here too. I even regard that as payment in kind for my using his site! So let him make his money and let the envious simmer, for all I care.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

I wholeheartedly agree with the general consensus. That Martin and his PRIVATE site rocks!!
Yes - it's not a charity, it's a private site which he can run as he sees fit. If you don't like it, you don't have to be here. But the majority of us really like this site and it's ethos.
I'm sure he's not a saint, but he's saved me a heck of a lot of money, so he can be a billionaire for all I care - it doesn't cost me a penny so why does it matter?
People who invented sites like Facebook and Myspace are very wealthy, so what's the difference? And this site has been a hell of a lot more useful to me that those have.
AND somehow, it's still ad-free - which is amazing when you think about how much he could potentially make if he chose to allow advertising on here. So I say well done to the man. :T0 -
Martin is probably earning a lot of money and rightly so but there are thousands and thousands of people benefitting both financially and emotionally from it on the back of him which doesnt cost us a penny.
How much free help have we had from Alan Sugar, Richard Branson and the rest of them - zilch
Good luck to the man, he found a niche in the market and grabbed it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
