Can't get under 30 kwh electric per day.

Kittywaa, could you read your electricity meter every hour? You can then calculate how much you use each hour. A spreadsheet would help if you have that. This would show if you are using an excessive amount at certain times of the day. The amount you are using suggests to me that there must be a heater involved somewhere, such as a tumble dryer, immersion heater or electric shower.
Have already done that, but it didn't really tell me much although that day we used the least kwh since I started which was 26 , the meter must have known I was watching it lol
We never use the dryer, dont have an immersion and have a power shower direct fron the c/h tank,

If I were you kitty, get one of those plug-in meters and compare the reading to the wireless meter.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

Say if you just turned a heater on, with both the wireless and plug-in meters in use, how do their readings compare?Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

Right, I have bought the newer owl model which does a running kwhs total
Got my money back for the old one, told them it was faulty lol.
Only had it on for 4 hours but already showing a difference to the meter.
Meter used 5.49kwh
Owl showing 3.87 kwhs
I get that to about 35% difference ,does anyone agree.
Now I know they are not 100% accurate and it is early days so I will monitor it over a few days to see what it throws up.

Ah yes, I remember this thread! I'm sure back on page 1, it seemed that your meter wasn't reading in line with the Owl. Now you have the new model, you'll be able to see if this is the case -certainly looks like it.
But didn't you say you'd had a new meter and it seemed to be in line with the old one? Wonder if it suggests a wiring problem rather than meter?0 -

Yes, we have had 3 new meters over the last 18 months, but I have always thought it was a wiring fault somewhere, it is a 200 year old cottage although we have had a lot of wiring replaced, I think we do need it looking at.
Would a normal electrician be able to do it or is it more specialised?

I suppose it is not impossible to have 3 dickey meters lol

No idea, but I would ask your supplier for advice - and make sure you have it on record that you have told them about this - before you get anything done.0

Am in the middle of a changeover to EDF so I dont think EON will do anything now.
Will have to wait till 5th March when EDF take over, they can't be any less helpful than EON --- or can they ?
After a month with them on prepayment I will be going on dd so yet another meter.
