lovely sunny day here, so washing been on line, I love pegging it out when it's a lovely fresh day and there were loads of birds singing in the garden, it was totally relaxing :)

walked around the local market and picked up my veg for the week and a few other bits,
went to butchers for meat and was served by the owner, I told him we'd had all our meat from him for the last 6 weeks and we're really impressed, we're spending less than at tescos, the taste is so much better and it feels good to know all the meat is so local, his sausages and burgers are delicious, he said that he knows kids like that type of food so he makes his own to give them quality :)

just finished making parsnip soup for OH and I to take to work this week,

we're having lamb shanks for dinner as a treat, we've saved on other meat so splashed out on these at £3.50 each, with mash and gravy

Hi all - haven't had much time on here again today. Have been inundated with visitors all day. Just wanted to send (((hugs))) to everyone and to welcome Bethebee back from her fabulous holiday. It sounds fantastic, Beth. I hope you managed to rest properly - I know what you're like - you'll be back plastering something by Monday!

Did my food shopping this morning and was quite pleased with the bill. We've just had Co-op's own quarter-pounders, 100% beef; they were delicious and only £1 for two! Quite a lot of other bargains there, too.

The weather has been perfect - I've got two loads of washing dry on the line which makes such a change from the last few weeks.

Anyway, off for a bath. See you all later.

Evening all - not been around much for a bit but i do sometimes peek in to keep an eye on you all

Morwenna - hugs to you and yours - what a shock! I guess that all you can do is be there for the children.

Nothing much going on - have just been pulled a bit by some family domestics but am stepping back now so should have a bit more time for OS - saying that I have been quite good this week and have just filled the freezer with loads of yellow stichered goodies.

Took dgs(4) to the farm today - last time we went he was scared of everything but mostly the chickens - this time he loved it especially the chickens. They bring some animals around for the children to handle and he was fine with the lamb, the chick, the guinea pig and the rabbit but freaked out at the rat (as did I) which was odd as he has hamsters at home. Then we came home and did stickers - he can't have stickers at home as his mum is really really really phobic so I always make sure that there's some at Nana's house.

dd(12) has been to Thorpe Park today and filled up with rubbish so i will just do some sausage sarnies in a bit

have a good rest of the weekend all
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

  • Little bear spent a large part of yesterday (apparently) taking out all his teeshirts from a drawer and putting them back in, and taking them out, and putting them in... So they are only fit for the washing machine. Along with the sleepers that he did the same to today, plus sheets, plus a backlog of washing plus all the stuff he got sudacream all over today (where he found three pots I do not know, the current one was safely out of the room.

My poor washing machine was never a great machine, and I am worried about the overload. Three loads already, plus a few more tomorrow, plus all the lovely ironing. As I am slowly (extremely slowly) clearning through the house, small pockets of junk at a time, I keep finding washable things, and if it hasn't been washed in the last six months it needs washing again, especially as the odds are it is covered in dust and creased to pieces. At least it is getting fit to line dry here now that they have stopped sand blasting less than twenty yards away.

So should my washing machine break down - any recommendations?

Hugs to all, especially Sunnygirl and Morwenna.

Sybil, where in the country are you? If the worst comes to the worst and you're in travelling distance of me (Coventry) and have transport, I have a spare washing machine you can have.

I'm off to bed now, sleep tight everyone xxx
