Morning, I have been up since 7.30 which is early for me on a saturday, but OH went out early to a car boot sale and woke me up, and could I get back to sleep ??

morwena, I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss, I am thinking of you and the children, hugs xx

Annie, you were brilliant :T , your make up was fantastic, you looked great, and my OH said you looked so happy and were enthusiastically clapping the other contestants, well done you xx

Hester, I was praying it was his fingers, ouch !!

Plans for today, I have just put a wash on, and have one more to do, which I will hang out today, as its a beautiful spring day :T , have a tidy round and whip the hoover over (OH can do this :D ) general tidy, then the day is ours.

I want to get some veg seeds planted today, think I will put some chillis and peppers in, and some early tomatoes, I also have some 'lemon drop' yellow chilli peppers, which aparantly taste like lemon  :T , so will start them off, I need to get some compost so will nip to garden center.

This afternooon I am looking after my twin nephews ( 7 )while my brother etc go to visit my other nephew in Guildford, so I will take them up the woods for an hour or so to wear them out :D

We ended up having a hot Indian delivered last night for tea, OH treated us :D , so tonights dinner will be the stir fry from last night.

Well I need another cuppa, so will get on, have good days all.
  • Morwenna, you are in my prayers.xxx
I hope your dad continues to improve Sunnygirl. xxx
Smokybabe, I love reading your posts. You are an inspiration. :A
Annie you look very happy and confident last night and you did so well!! And what a dress!!!! :T

I have been up for hours which I will regret later but I had a disturbed sleep and eventually gave in.
It means that the ironing is done!!!!, the house is respectable and there is a veggie broth on the stove for lunch but I am done in. :o

I think I shall make a big pot of coffee and read my gardening mag while waiting for Saturday Kitchen to start. Will plan the rest of the day when DH gets up. At the moment the children are happily playing dressing up and teachers all at once.

    Have lovely days all!!!

    Morning peeps:hello:
Gorgeous sunny morning here. Windows open and feeling very spring like.
I have made myself a list of jobs to do, everything from washing kitchen floor to finishing my proposal for uni application. It's done except the tidying up bits and cutting out 150 words , also checking references and details. So...it is in my list and when I need a break from it I'll have to do another thing on the list:p.
Meals today will be those grab what is there kind. I defrosted an interesting looking unlabelled bag but it seems to contain a meagre portion of tomatoey sauce and some pasta. Can't think when I did that! Might boil it up and shove it on a baked potato as there isn't much pasta in it as well as little sauce!
Have a relaxation music cd playing and rosemary oil burning to stimulate my brain :D
Back later to see what you're all up up!

  • Annie - you were fantastic. My mother was a secretary at Chester Zoo in the 1960s, and she was the one ringing round trying to find out how to incinerate elephants (was it five?) that had died of anthrax and couldn't be moved from their compound - on April Fool's day! I'll pm you her name if you are interested, but I won't be offended if you are not, it is a very small footnote :D

    Morwenna - thinking of you.

Sunnygirl - hope things are going well.

Dear heart is not very well, but if he feels able he will be doing multiple runs to a charity shop, I really must get joined to freecycle. I hate putting things in landfill as I think it will be little bear or his children that suffer.

Little bear's fingers seemed to have survived, he is still into everything this morning. I forsee quite a busy weekend.

My darling father is coming up next week, I have no idea for how long. My thin pretence of a budget is now even more hazy. I was planning to add to my stash in the freezer this week, but I think I will pass.

Do you know, I have no idea where to start (apart from turning the blanket box upside down), and no idea what needs to be done in what order. So I think I shall just start in the middle and get on. But the tablets are finally working properly, my back isn't hurting, I am not streaming with cold and the toothache is manageable so I have a great chance to get going.

    Hugs to all

  • Morning all,
A glorious day outside so far.
Morwenna - hope you are doing OK. Thoughts and prayers are with you and the children
PrincessTippyToes - good to hear from you.:j
redruby - will you take my dogs with you when you go to the woods?:rotfl:
hester my little boy did something very similar, but he would sell me on ebay if I told you about it:rotfl:

You lot always put me to shame with your getting up earlies and getting chores done before the family get up! I'm still in bed with my first cup of coffee!!!!! However, having had half-term week most of the washing is done and there is still a load on the line from yesterday (I think I may have to go to the 'tired old stylers!!!!) but the thought is there.
On a positive note, while dd had her friend on a sleepover yesterday, we made hm pizza, chocolate fork cookies, curried parsnip soup AND had a full English breakfast yesterday - not all at once though!!

Jobs for today: hoover, dw, wm, bm, walk dogs then off this afternoon to cook for 'my boys' at the Rugby Club. Today, we will be mostly eating sweet and sour chicken with lemon rice....

Just noticed - I got a star! How did I manage that? Can someone tell me how this magic happens?x

    Morning Everyone!

Good news to report on Dad - he was able to write last night so we can communicate now :T He is still very unsteady on his feet but we seem to be seeing improvements every day - thank you for all your continued support :A Mum's angina is quite bad today a reaction to the last couple of days no doubt, so I'll be keeping an eye on her & doing whatever jobs she needs to be done. She was like a whirling dervish yesterday morning cooking 3 different soups, making 2 fruit loaves, a spaghetti bolonese (all for the freezer) and she did the ironing!! It's not surprising that she needs to take it easy today ;)

Apart from hospital visiting & being at Mum's I'm not doing anything else. I've pegged some washing out as it's a nice sunny, blowy day so hopefully it'll dry & I've decided on frozen lasagne, hm wedges & salad for dinner this evening which is easy.

Diva - I still have the prayer mat out for Tristan & you.

Sybil - I have trapped childrens fingers, private 'bits' & legs lots of times if it's any consolation to you. I always felt really awful as well. My youngest ds, now 10yrs old, STILL has obsessions over certain clothes & would wear the same two t shirts, jeans & one particular hoodie even now!

Morwenna - Continued hugs & prayers for you all.

Halight - Keep your chin up it's hard to stay positive, I know, sending you, your wife & lovely twins ((((((((((((((big hugs))))))))))))))

Silvercharming - I, too, am intrigued by oh's 'find' please do tell when you know ;)

Massive ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))) to all of you today we all seem to be going through a tough time one way or another, at least we can support one another :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'll be back on later to catch up have a good day everyone.
