Selling Your Stuff on Amazon Part 12 - Advice for newbies in first two posts

I just had to post to say that I have just this minute sold a book for £66.40, unfortunately I won't be getting the money as I bought it for a gift for my son about 3 years ago and recently I saw that this title had gone OOP and was worth a lot of money so I agreed that he should sell it. So he gets the money.
Even after fees the net proceeds before postage is still £57, so he is well chuffed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Glad to hear some folks are making some good sales
I have sold 3 over the last week from 900 listed - OK i suppose but I have been used to selling 1 a day from that many.
Still, I sold a £15 one yesterday, so things aren't too bad I suppose!
I shall at least be able to pay my PM fees :j which was looking unlikely until Sunday afternoon.AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -
I initially posted about this in message 745 about a book reported as lost to US buyer.
The item was posted on 8th Sept. Buyer left negative feedback on 29th Sept to say item had not been received.
I explained about current postal difficulties and asked buyer if she would be prepared to wait longer for item to arrive.
She said no, wanted to cancel, so I gave a full refund the next day. I said if the item arrived I expected her to pay for it less postage costs or if it didn't to confirm that it had not arrived so I could claim against Royal mail.
I then mailed her on 29th Oct, 6th Nov via Amazon and as no reply to these on 9th Nov via my personal e-mail to get an update.
She replied on 10th Nov to say item arrived on 30th Oct. I re-listed the item less postage costs for her to purchase again, details sent on 10th Nov. Reminder sent on 12th Nov. I have had no reply and the re-listed item has not been bought.
Is there anything I can do to get payment for this item? Can amazon re-charge her for this book now the buyer has confirmed that it has arrived? She just doesn't seem to reply to e-mails and I don't know if she is being sneaky or just inept not replying through amazon. From googling her I know her work address etc so I was wondering about trying to contact her via that. It wasn't sent recorded so her reply is the only 'proof' I have it has arrived although that now scuppers me claiming against Royal Mail.
Can I also get the negative feedback removed? I feel this is unfair as the buyer did not give me the opportunity to sort this out by contacting me before leaving feedback. Also the current feedback does not reflect how the situation has panned out. I also want to warn other sellers in case this is a fraudulent pattern of behaviour by the buyer. I've asked her to do this but surprise surprise had no reply.
Any advice welcomed0 -

GET IT RIGHT
You are quite right to say it needs to be right, so I suggest you read what it says as it is confusing but may be clearer on a second viewing.
The postage paid by the buyer is £2.75, however this guide was written from a selling point of view and Amazon take 49p from that credit before passing it across to seller, so the postage credit receievd by seller is £2.75-49p = £2.26.
This is the full list of deductions form the postal credit:

What fee do you refer to?
Individuals selling at Marketplace pay a GBP 0.86 per item completion fee, plus a closing fee of 17.25% of the sales price (11.5% for Electronics & Photo items) for each item sold.

Dr_Funkenstein wrote: »first post is HORRIBLY misleading...
amazon doesnt give you a postage allowance.. they pass on the postage fees PAID BY THE BUYER, to you.. minus admin fee and ACTUAL postage costs
first post suggests that you get a postage supplement AND whatever you charge for postage, but since you cant charge extra for postage, its not that great a deal
The first post and links within it explain very clearly that the postage figure is towards postage. Although on paper it is £2.75, you don't get the full 2.75 as amazon take a fee from it of 49p so you actually get ..... £2.26.
You can adjust the book price to allow for extra postage though or vice versa discount as in penny sales.
The fee is 86p fixed fee plus a variable percentage fee (this is on postage and cover price). If you look in your orders and click on the total paid to you for one you should see the breakdown. If your fixed fee is not 86p, raise it with Amazon.0 -
Selling fairy has been flying over Wales the last week, did not sell enough last month to cover the pro-merchant subscription, but was only 2 short, buyer waiting lists still not working for me although I have emailed them several times.
This week so far have sold 20 books, so only need a few more in the next 3 weeks to cover my subscription. Just a shame only one was high value, and even that wasn't that high £18!!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
