Oh it's just ridiculous. And patently unreasonable. And why this flurry of pendings? You would hope (ho ho) that Amazon might be a bit interested to find out whether there's a glitch in their system.
I agree I wonder if there is a glitch as both my two that went to a sale last night went at virtually the same time.

Can someone please tell me firmly to let this go and to stop emailing CS, as I am so cross I'll end up suspended at this rate as I can't make them see how wrong this is.

You know it makes sense. Unlike Amazon.

This is from their latest email, can anyone explain what it means please? I was asking how I contact the potential buyer of a pending item:

I would like to apologise for misleading you.

What I meant is that if buyer is cautious to receive ordered item he/she would contact you. If you see the order in pending status you may advise him/her to contact their bank.

They must recruit their staff from the same place as eBay :rotfl:

"if buyer is cautious to receive ordered item"

really inspires confidence. I don't see how one can contact the buyer of a pending sale. If only we could, we could reduce the risk of neg feedback for 'late' posting.

I did get a 4 for this, but it does illustrate how some Amazon buyers see feedback:

Very disappointed. Arrived really quickly but I didn't enjoy reading it, although it was the one I ordered.

Hmmm, they don't really seem to grasp the meaning of feedback...

I wrote to my 3/5 buyer and said I was very sorry that she did not enjoy the book, but that feedback was relating to service and not a book review (politely of course). She very kindly removed her feedback and apologised as she did not realise it would affect my statistics.
Have sold 56 books since 10th November, only 4 over £10 though, but have more than covered my pro-merchant fees this month with 2 weeks left to go until next payment due. I just need more stock as I only have 275 listed now!
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

    Argh %$*&^

Two of my pendings converted to sales at about the same time last night..just after 11pm. One of them had a last posting date of the 25th so now I have a late shipping warning and a bad mark on my seller matrix because I could not post it out between 11.15 and 11.59 pm last night.

These pendings are beyond ridiculous, I have of course emailed CS to ask them to remove the late strike as 44 minutes to ship an item when the PO is closed is beyond stupid.

Soolin, I'm not 100% sure but I think its possible to edit the shipment date so that you put a date that would be within the acceptable shipping times from when the book was ordered. You do this from your order page and theres a button for it on the RHS. I beleive this then restores your metrics to what they should have been and you can email the buyer to explain why there was a delay with sending their book ie the sale was pending. Worth a try anyway - hope this makes sense.

Yes, you are right - I've not tried it but I can see how it could be done.

Soolin - this happened to me once too - as I was still just within the 2 days, I did online postage with Royal Mail which gave me a valid postage date and then confirmed shipment - I couldn't think of any other way around it. It went to the Post Office the next day of course, but that is within RM rules.
