  • Is there a way for a seller to change postage charges. I see the same item listed by 4 or 5 sellers, all have different postal charges. How do I change it on my seller account. THanks.

I sell books and CDs and the postage on those is fixed by Amazon and can't be changed by the seller. What category are you selling in? If its one where the postage can be changed you should be able to decide your own when listing items?

Soolin, I'm not 100% sure but I think its possible to edit the shipment date so that you put a date that would be within the acceptable shipping times from when the book was ordered. You do this from your order page and theres a button for it on the RHS. I beleive this then restores your metrics to what they should have been and you can email the buyer to explain why there was a delay with sending their book ie the sale was pending. Worth a try anyway - hope this makes sense.

I had a PM from someone who suggested this sort of thing, and I managed to do it and remove the late strike from my seller matrix. I had already written to the buyer explaining that item was being shipped the day after Amazon receievd payment which was actually later than they thought they had ordered it.

I have also been corresponding with CS and they have released my other pendings that are older than 8 days so I should be OK seller matrix wise for a while again.

Is anyone else experiencing bumper sales on Amazon? Over the past week I have sold 62 items on my work account and half of those were just over the weekend since I left the office on Friday. Mostly new toys so they are obviously christmas presents. As well as half a dozen VHS videos.

If you've got any toys to list get them on quick :)

I'm afraid my sales are horrible again - 2 in the last week only.

Novermber had set off very positively, but the last ten days have been very quiet.

Given I only restarted in October I have nothing much to compare it to, but have sold 72 books from 1st November to today, with majority of them being over the last fortnight or so, not new books so not being bought for Christmas pressies. 62 in a week is fab!! Sold 29 items in October so a definite pick up in sales.
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Maybe its a combination of the fact its toys and that we are a childrens charity selling on there - sales are still fab with 19 in the last 24 hours. Yesterday was manic wrapping parcels - it took two of us ages to do them all. Need to invest in some good packing materials as we are running low.

becky004 - those are very good figures. We're not doing so well on books at the moment. Just 3 out of about 70 of our most recent sales have been books

  • Yes JesaRose, I have been surprised this weekend... I went away on Friday and forgot to turn off my settings, as I've been having so few sales... got back and found had sold two medium value books, one on Thursday night so had to rush to the post office yesterday evening to try to get them posted within the two working days policy!

Then got home to find had sold another book, this time a £15 one!

These are second hand and have been listed a while, to give you a sense I have been having about 5 sales a month, (only have about 30 listed) so three in a weekend is like an early Xmas for me! So not sure if people are buying as gifts or for themselves, but hope the selling trend continues!

The only problem is the queues in the post office, waited about 45 minutes today to send that package!!

  • Would someone help, please. My buyer wants to return her item, which seh received this mornning. No mentioning why, I assume she got it somewhere else.
Am I right to understand that I will rufund her cost but not the postage?
