Selling Your Stuff on Amazon Part 12 - Advice for newbies in first two posts

Hey experienced Amazon seller types....!
Can someone offer me some assistance...??
I sold some books on Amazon a couple of years ago - and pretty much forgot about my seller account!
And then recently - within the last 6 months, I've started to get emails to say that I have a positive balance, but it can't be transferred to me as I don't have my bank details on file.
To start with, I thought it was a scam - but after the third identical e-mail, I got in touch with Amazon and they confirmed that I have a balance of £5.xx
So since then, I have tried to put my bank details on the seller account details -and I am pretty sure that I have done (I've followed the instructions and I can see my bank details on the account!!!) but I am still getting the e-mails.
I have tried contacting Amazon two more times now - but their only suggestion is to start a new account so that I can continue selling...!!!
I don't want to continue selling! none of my books are worth anything - but I would quite like my balance, although it's only a small amount..!!
Anyone with experience tell me what I am doing wrong???Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
Hmmmm tricky.
2 suggestions; have you used the call back facility to get them to ring you? Sometimes [but only sometimes] you get more sense/help out of CS when you talk to someone. If you just send emails they often send back a generic reply which doesn't answer your question.
Secondly, if you go into your seller account and click on 'view your payment account', is the balance there? If it is you could try transferring it to your account via the request disbursement button.
Can't think of anything else - good luck0 -
Thanks for the reply teapot - when I try to see if i have a balance, it makes me log in again - but then it says that the page is temporarily unavailable (and has been for the last 4 months that I've been trying it!!)
I might try and phone them......!

Argh %$*&^
Two of my pendings converted to sales at about the same time last night..just after 11pm. One of them had a last posting date of the 25th so now I have a late shipping warning and a bad mark on my seller matrix because I could not post it out between 11.15 and 11.59 pm last night.
These pendings are beyond ridiculous, I have of course emailed CS to ask them to remove the late strike as 44 minutes to ship an item when the PO is closed is beyond stupid.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So that's at least 2 of us with this infuriating pendings problem (had exactly the same physically impossible posting date, soolin) and my only reply has been 'this has all been within normal activity'.
Argh %$*&^ with knobs on.0 -
I spoke to CS, they say that the strike stays as I am late in shipping as buyer originally ordered the book 4 days ago. They also confirmed that I could not have physically shipped the book until late last night but say that is how it works. They did reassure me (huh!) that if this strike pushes me into the suspension area then it will be considered before any suspension is made and will be ignored as a full strike. So that means we have to trust Amazon to remember that when they look at the basic computer figures.
I also asked about feedback as they said that the buyer will have been told that the seller is late in shipping and they will also be told that the book will be due to arrive as though it was posted 4 days ago. CS say that of course the buyer will remember that the dates he is given are wrong as he couldn't confiirm the payment details and once the buyer remembers that he will of course leave positive feedback for delivery times, oh yes and pigs are fed watered and due to fly at 6pm this evening as well. However CS did say that if I got a negative for late delivery then I could phone them and they would consider removing it.
I am so NOT reassured by this. If any of other pendings from 6 days ago get sold today that means I will already be 2 full days late in shipping and that will push me into the suspension zone for the past 30 days on these two sales alone..I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Very poor service from amazon. I hope I never run into difficulties with them...I don't think I could be asked to carry on after something like that.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

I have just had this email in response to a complaint I made about this system:
'Sold, dispatch now' email is sent to you as soon as Amazon is able to secure funds on buyer's credit card.
Amazon is aware that since charge and ship was introduced seller's metrics are affected when the problem with charging buyers' credit cards occur.
Please remember that you may communicate with your buyer when you see that there is a problem obtaining the payment for items purchased from you.

My question is, as I am obviously so stupid I can't see it, is how do I communicate with the potential buyer of a pending item? I can see the pending but there is no name or email contact anywhere near the order?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Oh it's just ridiculous. And patently unreasonable. And why this flurry of pendings? You would hope (ho ho) that Amazon might be a bit interested to find out whether there's a glitch in their system.0
