WOW!!!..what a great thread:cool:
I have to agree about the ease of selling of the New Age type titles as I have sold these on Amazon with more success than other titles.
It looks like I will be spending a lot more time browsing the book shelves in some of our smaller charity shops...the larger, better known ones price their books too high for me to sell on in most cases.
I will definitely be back here soon to catch up with this thread
Good luck with all your Amazon sales everybody:jJanuary 1st 2013 starting weight 123 kg

Good luck to you as well..I wonder how many of us there are scouting around in charity shops now looking furtive and trying to read all the titles before others get to them first!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hello Guys,
Just thought Id ask how many items (Books) are you currently selling? Surely the more books the higher chance of a sale.
Also where do you find these books to sell and which ones do particular well?
I sold my first book at the weekend. An old university book.0 -
I have a stock of around 1500 books, I list several dozen or hundred a week and take out slow ones or ones that hit the 1p floor. I usually expect to sell between 40-60 a month.
My best sellers are quirky US titles not published in the UK, self help books and obscure books on uni reading lists.
I buy all over, from charity shops, auctions private sellers and have a side line where my common books and 1p novels go round to charity fairs where I set up a stall and sell them all of to raise money for the host charity. I try to aim fo rno waste, although I still find myself with hundreds every month to try and shift that won't sell either for my business of for charity.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have only just recently started back on Amazon. I mainly sell VHS PAL videos from smaller production companies and ones where the footage was never shown on TV and never went onto DVD.
I have actually been buying up very reasonably priced books from private sellers on the smaller auction sites where there aren't many bidders then adding them to Amazon after checking the prices there.
I'll be buying from charity shops, starting next month so I'll check back here and let you know what I have been up to...might send a message from some exotic island....on holiday...spending all my millions:DJanuary 1st 2013 starting weight 123 kg

Another thing - Do you guys always try and be the lowest price? I can see that becoming quite a race and ulitmately end in little to no profit.0

I match the lowest price in the same condition unless the lower priced sellers have poor fedback in which case I will list at a higher price.
I do sell some where I am not the cheapest but most of the time when I sell something and go back and check I was the cheapest or near cheapest seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
