  • Hey, thanks. Managed to get it sorted, turned out i had a valid card anyway!

Another quick question, is it expected that sellers post via recorded delivery? Sorry I can't seem to find this info anywhere else! thanks!
  • Best tip that I can give people (selling for a few years now) is check out Borders / Waterstones when they have book clearance sales on, I managed to pick up a textbook on fiancial investments from 08 (course text for Business MBA I think) bought for £5 sold for £22.50.

Textbooks / reference books always do well, so keep an eye out for those!

    Hi,

It's not expected, I usually send mine 1st class and get proof of postage, I have sent around 40 packets recently and only had claims over one. You can weigh up the cost yourself to see what is going to ensure you break even.

All mine go 2nd class and I get COPs from the Royal mail.

  • Thanks for the fast responses and advice guys.

I listed some books on amazon a few months ago, completely forgot about them until now when I've had a sale. Found myself a bit unsure what to do next (I don't want to be a bad seller!). Quite handy as I could do with the money!

So assuming I am making a profit sending recorded won't be a problem for the buyer?

There is nothing at all to stop you using recorded although it is 75p out of your profit of course.

Just remember to confirm shipment tomorrow when you have sent it to the post office.

I should just add that as was mentioned on another thread we do tend to make assumptions on here, so I had best clarify. If the item is under £39 use whatever postal method you are comfortable with. For items over £39 you really should be looking at using special delivery to cover yourself against loss in the post.

Standard mail (including recorded) covers up to £39 if item is lost.

I should not have assumed your item was less than £39, sorry.

Also remember that the money you have received net from Amazon is inclusive of the postal credit.

  • hi all,

i wonder if anyone can advise me. I was suspended on amazon a few months ago and since then have been going round in circle with emails to seller performance with jeff@amazon copied in. i have a number of valid reasons why I believe the suspension is unfair, but they do not seem to care and now state "we will not respond to any further emails".

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? I am honestly thinking of getting legal advice

hi guys, does anyone have any thoughts? I'm really desperate! Thanks

2 Books sold this week. Its my first week, so its not too bad. Considering I've only 12 books listed also.

    Hi supermonkey,

I'm sorry I can't help at all, but didn't want your post to go totally understand. If you'd tell us bit more of the details in this case, maybe some of the experts will be able to help you. HTH.
