One more question, you're all very helpful.
Do you just post books on amazon only, or on other sites such as Ebay and Play? I can see it becoming quite confusing having books listed over three or four different sites.0 -
I also sell books on Ebay and some popular books on https://www.greenmetropolis. I closed down my Play trade selling account though as I had real problems with emails and notifications and didn't need the hassle.
I also used to list on ebid, but never sold anything.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Haven't sold for a while. All changed. What do I put for the following:
Shipping Details
Ship Date: date that was sent e.g. today
Carrier: Royal Mail
Shipping Service: <----
Tracking ID: <----
If sent RM normal 1st or 2nd, there would be no tracking?

All you have to do is choose 'Royal Mail' and then leave the tracking blank. Once you confirm the item has been shipped the funds hit your account in a few hours.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I list some items on Play & Amazon at the same time, it only works if you can regularly update both sites. As soon as something sells on one you need to be able to take it straight off the other. I've had the same item sell within an hour on both sites before, then had to refund one. Not for the faint heartedNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

Isn't it a pain why either both or none sells? Trying to advertise on as many possible sites as possible? I'm thinking of advertising on Amazon, eBay and play. Would it really be big trouble if one/both/all three sells? (obviously can't be all three at once but just wondering!?)0 -
When my item sold on both I posted the highest priced one (Amazon) and emailed apologising to the other buyer (Play), I didn't get bad feedback and they were fine about it but it could have gone badly and I could have got a neg.
If you are available to amend as soon as one sells it might be worth it, but not otherwise. Not sure I would put things on Ebay as well as the other sites unless you are doing them as Buy It Nows because once people bid on an auction it won't go down well on there to be removing bids. You do take the risk of getting negative feedback on any of them if you sell twice.
Its definately possible that all three could sell at once if you have a popular item. E.g. the best selling book at the moment would be well searched/purchased on all sites
The good thing about having them all listed on Amazon is that they just stay there until sold or de-listed, on Play you can only have 100 listings unless you are a Pro-trader which is about £14.99 a monthNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
Hello,
I am a newbie to all Amazon selling and appear to have got myself in a pickle already. Can anyone tell me if its possible to sell stuff on marketplace without a credit card? Is it required?
Thanks, Komet0 -
hi all,
i wonder if anyone can advise me. I was suspended on amazon a few months ago and since then have been going round in circle with emails to seller performance with jeff@amazon copied in. i have a number of valid reasons why I believe the suspension is unfair, but they do not seem to care and now state "we will not respond to any further emails".
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? I am honestly thinking of getting legal advice0 -

It should be posisble to sell with only a debit card but Amazon seems to have problems recognising debit cards and many people have experienced problems. I don't think anyone has yet come up with a way round this problem.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
