I telephoned Amazon CS today to ask who is right or wrong about my problem with HP ink cartridges. Nice CS lady said that out of date cartridges can be listd as NEW as long as you write in the description that they are out of date. So listing them as NEW is not breaking any rules as they still work fine and they are new, and the original listing doesn't have any expiry date listed anyway.

However I am going to refund original buyer and get the cartridges back but I will tell him what CS said

The problem is with Amazon CS is that they will often contradict themselves, there have been lots of instances on the seller boards where someone has been penalised because they do something that CS was OK.

Well since my 1 star feedback fiasco I have had a further three orders. I guess I had a panic over nothing. I shall just have to hope that more positive stuff comes in and soon I am back to normal with good ratings!

ETA: And thanks so much for the advice from everyone. I think it may be best to leave the negative feedback person alone now. He has been in touch a few times with one line emails and I don't believe English is his first language. Best to let this one lie and live and learn for next time as I don't think a long winded conversation with someone who may not understand everything I am saying is going to help the situation.

My sales are terrible. One sale in a week where normally I would get 30 or 40, Don't know whats going on here. Hopefully its just the time of year but I will have to check all my pricing

    .

My sales seem to have picked up after I got a neutral feedback too  Strange amazon logic I suppose

And can we leave feedback for buyers? I can't seem to find it anywhere

Indeed we can, click on the order number in your seller account and go right to the bottom of the page. If they have left you feedback you have the option to respond to it [goes on your account below their comment] even if they haven't left you feedback there is a button for 'leave buyer feedback' which will go on their account - nothing libellous, vindictive or rude to be added though . Once its there you can't change it I don't think - just remove it.

I am small fry by comparison but am nonetheless selling nothing when i always sell something if, at worst only a couple. It happened as soon as I signed up to the charge when ship system but then could also be the time of year. Any one else had post charge when shipped sign up probs:confused:

    Hi Soolin,

Instead of calling it 'shipping confirmation' which amazon don't want us to send, I use the drop down menu and call it 'order information'... simples

    Like it teapot :T
