    Hello,

    Please be gentle with me as I'm new to selling my things and very uncertain about it. I've recently sold some of my books on Amazon and now I'm starting to look at my CD's.

    My big question is this; I have a few promotional Cd's that are collectable, but can I sell these on Amazon? I'm worried not, but I have noticed other sellers have them listed under the "Collectible" category. Is this ligit?

    I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to

    Do I need to send him a SAE? Is it possible to refund him his whole amount plus some extra for postage incurred by him?

    I only mentioned SSAE as you said thats what he wanted - guess you don't have to but you then risk him sending it in packing where it gets damaged????

    Although I haven't tried it myself, the posting below was recently on the amazon's sellers forum so it looks like more than the original price can be refunded now;
    "At last a long awaited improvement.
    I have put a refund for a cancelled order, and we now have the facility to refund the return postage costs on top of the original purchase price."

    hi Muffin99, sorry they are not legit although folk do list them, they risk the wrath of Amazon if they are caught. Amazon have been known to close seller accounts for this so its not worth it really. Quote below from seller help pages re 'Prohibited Content' makes it clear;

    'Promotional media. Movies, CDs, software, books (including advance reading copies and uncorrected proofs), etc., that are produced and distributed for promotional use only are prohibited for sale through Amazon.co.uk'.

    Thanks very much guys - I appreciate the advice. Looks like I'll have to part with them a different way altogether!

    Thanks a lot,

    I have emailed him telling him that a SAE will be on its way. I hate having to pander to people when they are rude. If he had just politely emailed it would have been sorted much quicker
    Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

    Thankfully its only a few but for some buyers, rude seems to be the default :p. Hope thats the end of the hassle.

    Hi,

    I am new to Amazon selling and need a bit of help. I have been doing quite well with sales so far, 27 items sold over the past few weeks. However I have only had 5 pieces of feedback, 4 of them are 5 stars however 1 is a 1 star. It seems that the disc I sent out is faulty something that I was completely unaware of, it was fine at my end when I tested it. The buyer has not contacted me direct to ask for a refund or let me know this, the only way I knew that was from his feedback which helpfully said "disc broke". Obviously I would never knowingly send a disc out broken so I sent an email asking for more detail - unplayable or broken in transit. In my haste and slight panic I forgot to mention that I would be happy to refund so I sent a second email saying I have arranged for a full refund and it is in process. I have not had a response as yet though so am just keeping my fingers crossed he mails back.

    I also tried posting a response to his review online, however I wanted to edit it to add to it (more haste less speed again and didn't mention the really important bits :rolleyes:) and removed it so I could re-post but I can't do this as the botton is no longer active. I have emailed amazon to ask for them to change this as I need potential buyers to know I have not just left my customer in the lurch and that within 24 hours of his feedback I have emailed him and refunded but cannot do this.

    Has anyone got themselves into this sort of feedback response pickle before? I am really eager to sort it as I was enjoying selling and with only 5 feedbacks so far I have taken a 20% hit on my approval rating so no one is going to touch me with a barge pole at this rate!

    Thanks in advance
  • Pants, have just received a mail from Amazon saying that I cannot re-submit any feedback response. I guess I must have missed the notice saying this when I hastily posted.

    I guess I just have to hope that my buyer sees that I was not trying to pull a fast one from my emails and the refund and that he amends his feedback.

    How have other people who have had negative feedback managed to combat this? Is it just a case of waiting for any other feedback to come in and hoping it boosts my ratings enough for people to trust buying from me? Any advice would be greatfully received, am feeling like a bit of a numpty right now. A moment of panic and I have made the whole darm thing a lot worse. Poop!

    Unfortunately a negative can hurt on Amazon especially as so few buyers actually bother to leave any other feedback. I would give it a few days for the refund to get processed and then recontact the buyer again and ask if they would remove their feedback now that th ematter has been resolved, they may still say no of course but it can't hurt to ask.

    I've been lucky in that all my negatives have been removed by the buyer, but i do still have a 3* lurking in the last year where the woman would not remove it despite the problem being an Amazon one and not mine.
