Although I am against this new imposed procedure, the one major benefit would seem to be that if you can't find a book then you can cancel. is this correct?
Btw Soolin, I have been skulking around this msg board for ages and have finally got round to signing up - thanks so much for your input - it's made a huge difference to me as a fairly new seller.0 -
If you do cancel the sale can they still leave feedback? If not then its brilliant for those times when you do loose the itemNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

Yes, I'd love to know this too - not that I'm paranoid about feedback or anything - can hardly bear to look at mine in case it's not good news!
Mind you, where has all the feedback gone, or is it just me?0 -
I tell myself no feedback is good feedback
better to have none than bad I thinkNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
If you cancel a sale the buyer can still leave feedback all you have done is cancel the payment. . If you lose a book, and I'm sure we have all done that (I did a xouple of weeks ago) a polite and very apologetic email to the buyer should stop any negative stars being received, although there is no way of guaranteeing that.
However, a high rate of cancellation, the seller community boards suggest around 2% (2 sales in evry 100) is enough to get you on special measures on Amazon and a possible suspension, so be careful. When i lose a book I always try to see if I can buy another better copy from elsewhere to ship to the buyer rather than just automatically cancel, even if it costs me money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have sold 2 books in the last 48 hours, after 2 weeks without a single sale. And the 2 weeks before that weren't what you'd call impressive.0
