Since the late charges and the PPI both are on the same credit card, should I do two letters but send them both to the same address?

Yes that should be fine, and of course post by recorded delivery to ensure it gets to them, you can check by tracking the postal ref number on the Royal mail website here:

  • Hi Di,

I got a letter in the post today from Lloyds TSB from Richard Michalec Card Operations Customer Service Recovery Brighton dated Thursday 26th March saying:

"I am sorry that you have had cause to complain. Thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention.

I have arranged for a member of my Customer Service Recovery team to carry out an immediate investigation, so that you will receive a full response from us. Because of the issues you have raised, it may take a little time to gather all of the information together, but we will respond to you within 28 days.

In the meantime I have enclosed a copy of the Bank's guide "How to Voice Your Concerns" which gives you more details about resolving your complaints with us."

He has mentioned that they would respond to me within 28 days, however, the letter I've sent in terms of the late charges specifies a time limit of 14 days.

Since they have actually replied to me, should I give them 28 days?

    Hi hun

    Hope your well.

This is exactly the same letter I received while going through this process, also my hubby on his separate case.

They do have 8 weeks as you know to deal with the complaint but even though we also mentioned 14 days, they came back with 28.

If you do not hear from them at all by then and the 8 weeks have passed I would personally move this on to the FOS, but generally they still do respond.

Hope you hear sooner rather than later with some good news on this hun, please keep us informed, cheers.;)

  • Thanks for that Di, at least I know they're looking at it.

I'll give them 8 weeks from the date of their letter, so that gives them until 21st May.

  • Hi,

Sorry I've not been in touch much, I'm not sure what the £53 was to do with in my post above, don't think it was anything to do with this.

Anyway, I'll get to the point.

I received two individual letters from Lloyds TSB Insurance on the same day, both with different Ref's.

Both of which read as follows:

"As you know, I have been investigating your complaint.

I am sorry that I am not in a position to complete a final response.

In light of this, you are now entitled to take your complaint directly to the Financial Ombudsman Service if you are unhappy with the delay. The Ombudsman contact details are in the enclosed explanatory leaflet.

Whatever you decide to do, I intend to finalise your concern. As this investigation is taking longer than expected, I now expect to provide you with a full response within the next few weeks.

If you would like to discuss the contents of this letter further or if I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me."

I should really have posted a message about these letters at the time, just not had a chance or had forgotten any time I was online.

What do you guys think of the above reply from Lloyds TSB Insurance?

Do you think I should go to the Financial Ombudsman?

If so, what should I write, do I need to enclose my letters and their replies so far?

    Any opinions/advice?

    Thanks
